I have been a reasonably happy CellC customer for a few years now. 18 months ago, I moved into a "bunker" in the middle of Cape Town. Thick walls, cut off from cellphone antennas etc. The minute you walked into the house - no cellphone reception. This was true for all networks, not just CellC.
I reported the issue on the CellC website almost a year ago.
A technician, Rowan was despatched to my home. He confirmed lack of reception and noted that I was out of direct line of any antennas. He promised to look into the matter.
Over the course of the last 12 months, Rowan constantly kept in touch with me, informing me of different motivations that he had submitted to improve reception in the area. He also came out with his boss and their laptops to check reception. As a last resort, he even motivated for a YAGI antenna for me at CellC's expense.
I got a call from him today to check the reception again, as CellC had made improvements in the area. Problem is - I moved out of the house last month!!!
Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you to Rowan for his great efforts. They were much appreciated.
