I am VERY glad that this warning was issued. This is a VERY dangerous country (only a fool will deny that). Let's hope this warning saves some innocent people's lives. I've lived in SA all my life and worry for my life every day. Tourists need to be aware of areas they should not go.

How can anyone be glad that the warning was released?

If you are about to travel and someone tells you something that helps then be glad. You just live here what difference does it make to your life?

Seriously being glad that New Zealand released a warning to citizens of New Zealand about SA is just plain stupid...

It's not stupid, common sense was at work in that travel advisory.
Telling people it's safe to travel here would be stupid.

I did not say the advisory was stupid, I said if you are a South African in SA then being glad about it is stupid.

More people die in SA daily than in most war zones.
These days it's not hte "lions" that makes South Africa so "wild & dagerous" any more

The only good that it servers the south african public is that it might force government into a response. But as you can see with the Aids fiasco, government does what it feels like regardless.

I counter with R100 in that there will be a comment to the measure of
"feel free leave to leave SA"

Come to think about it, if fewer tourists come to South Africa we are going to score. Prices will come down,[specially for us vaalies] that go to the bitch,I mean look how those lot of crooks down at the coastal resorts rip us off over the holiday periods.I,SAY SOUTH AFRICA FOR THE SOUTH AFRICANS,TOURISTS STAY AWAY,[geld is skaars]
