I am looking for a media player to play all my video files off hard drives etc. Both the Boxee and the Roku 3 seem like very good options, however i do not have internet at the moment and will only be using the device to watch local (HDD) content. I may however I use the streaming service down the line when I have internet again.

I know there are a quite a few guys who own either of these units and would like to hear your opinions on these devices.

I have the Roku 3, don't know much about the Boxee. As GoofySmurf said the Roku3 is more of a streaming device but if you load Plex media server on your pc then you can stream all your pc content onto your Roku 3 and then at a later stage when you get internet use the Roku 3 to it's full potential.
