H Guys

So someone reversed into my car and the bumper is now cracked, I have layed an accident report and have the persons details. I dont hav comprehensive insurance , just 3rd party, fire and theft.

Basically I just wanted to know if I should report this to my insurance seeing as I dont have comprehensive cover?

Thanks in advanced

Not much they will do / can do about it - so what's the point?

I assume the other person's insurance will sort out your car?

You generally have a contractual obligation to report any accident you are in to your insurer, so yes you should report it.

Yes, you HAVE to report it to your insurance. It has an affect on your risk profile. Not too long ago a guys claim on his Audi R8 was repudiated because he did not report a previous incident to his insurance.

Your insurance will then send you a form saying you will not be claiming from them, DO NOT SIGN IT.. sit on it till your 30 day claim window is up.

I’m not a lawyer so dont quote me on this but from what I understand is that if you do not claim, you do not claim through the guy who bumped into you, nobody was hurt / injured then you do not have to notify the insurance BUT I would suggest reading the fine print on your contract for more information.

Some decent insurers will assist you with the TP claim.

Yes report it.

Ok Thanks everyone, I will report it then . I didnt know it was in the contract, will have to read up on it.
