I'm porting across to Cell C at the end of the month as I've signed up for their awesome S4 deal.
Currently on a Top Up contract and I have quite a balance left on my account, so I thought transferring it to my sister, grandparents etc would be a good idea. When I tried to do this I got the lovely message "Your msisdn is not provisioned to do a[sic] airtime transfer". Phoned customer care and was informed that it is in fact impossible on the top up contract to do so. However if I went to the shop and bought pre-paid airtime I could transfer that portion. Another wonderful rip-off from Vodacom: they treat TopUp customers worse than pre-paid customers even though we are giving them a pre-determined amount of cash each month (without any real benefit over pre-paid).
Congrats Vodacom ,I was leaving you anyway, but now I leave with a bad taste in my mouth too.
