He could also get the 10gb he wants from Axxess for under r600.

Not everyone needs uncapped so this cheaper option might better suit his wallet.

You seem to be the ADSL Master, so I will cut the chase and just get straight to the point....... I need to ask you for a little help.

I am currently using Sentech My Wireless (256kbps), and the browsing is just fine, but I am looking to change to a more solid connection. (Not Wireless).

What can you reccomend for international browsing. I am looking for 10gb int cap and 1gb local cap or maybe just international. I need a 256-512kbps connection, and all this for 1k/month or less.

    Any reccomendations mate?
If you looking for 10GB International per month you have these two options in my personal opinion.

    Option 1:
    R249 x 2 = R498
    TelkomInternet 3GB x 2
That will ALWAYS give you 6GB, but since its relaxed capping, you have a good chance of almost always getting 10GB - 15GB (or more)
There is the risk involved (however minor at this moment) that you do not get that, so just depends how you feel about it.

    Option 2:
    R560 for 10GB Imaginet + R7 per 100MB above that.

That is about the best at the moment for hitting 10GB, this is not mentioning GTS, but they have yet to launch and dont believe they will launch soon either.

With regards to your ADSL Line Rental, simply add the above ISP choice to the below line rental costs.
    ADSL 384 downlink 128 uplink is R245
    ADSL 512 downlink 256 uplink is R362
ADSL 1024 (up to 4Mbps) downlink 384kbps uplink is R516

Did Imagine-IPS change their offers? I know their website is different.
Edit on post, made mention of the R490 10GB account from WebAfrica

Concurrent sessions are the amount of places the account can be used at once. E.g you are logged onto the account from home, and then maybe family of yours in another city.

Otherwise if you use the same account at home and at work. When you leave home and leave your computer online, login at work with the same account, its 2 concurrent connections.

    So 1GB = R118.00 ?

Axxess has got a 1GB unshaped for R99.00(SAIX based account)

Plus as you know with UUNET/Verizon, the more users they get the slower it gets

Unshaped Axxess has been added to the original post of ISP's

GOAL ISP will be removed December 1st if nothing interesting has happened with them.

    Hi,

I'd just like to recommend XDSL www.x-dsl.co.za whom I've been using for a little under a year.

Capped ADSL comes in at 63 plus VAT per gig and they're quite relaxed about increasing your allowance after your unplanned frag-fest.

    Changes:

    1) GTS has been removed from the ISP list.
    2) Concurrent Connections has been added.
    3) Updated Imagine-IPS prices, and added the Uncapped service to list

    Edited:

    4) Cybersmart confirmed 1 concurrent connection
    5) Imaginet confirmed 4 concurrent connections on SAIX and 1 on the I.S accounts
    6) Added, Getting ADSL Section

Please correct any inaccurate information with concurrent connections (or any other things), and also post if you can add missing information.

    Dear MrG:

    Here is my situation,

I recently arrrived to SA and am staying with firends for a few months while I find my place. Little surprise, capped ADSL. Big problem. I need ADSL fr teleconferencing and downloads and 3 gigs won't last me more than a week, if at all. Worse of all, I am not in my house yet. I contacted Telkom and they said we could get up to an additional 9 gigs and set it up in another computer. So I thougght his could help for now. Yet, as it now turns out, Telkom won't just add the darn 9 gigs to the account. Rather, they set up 3 new 3 gig accounts and say the only way to use them is once the first 3 are capped. But then we have to re-set the router and my firend has to re-set all hiss pop 3 emails on his 3 computers to get his e-mail.

Do you know if any of these providers would allow for a second user using the same telkom line? I would really prefer an unlimted account, or a high pay as you go with rollover. Can I get this while I am staying at my friends?

I guess the real question is can yu have tow different ISP services running concurrently on one Telkom linem if we each have a router and modem maybe?

    Thanks!
