Some very old comparisons there, interesting none the less.
I can testify to the Suzuki Samurai rolling over. Was in one, mate driving, took a corner fairly quickly but not like any other time we'd done the same corner in other cars... All of a sudden, we're toppling over and sliding down the road on our side. I landed up falling onto my mate and his window smashed, it was me on top of him, him against the tarmac, sliding. Wasn't a very pretty sight after all was said and done. Never got into another Suzuki vehicle after that

The Elantra at number 1, is it the old model or new one? The new one is actually very good. In any case, IMO the #1 spot should go to VW Golf, the Citi golf shape. Those death traps that people buy their children when their of to University.
Men if we don't father our children the world will, & the father substitutes it provides more often than not are destructive to their lives.

I own #1. Haven't had problems ever but I might just get a bit paranoid now

    Nonsense statistics are nonsense.

Without knowing the driving skill of each owner you can hardly attribute most of these faults to the cars.

    But then there is this:

The 2013 Hyundai Elantra sedan earned a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway (IIHS), becoming one of the only six small cars to receive the Institute's highest award.

Soo....to trust IIHS or to trust Tumblr, that is the question.

/gives a big MEH and moves on

EDIT: should add there #1 cars with dropped suspension or modifications

Agreed, but some of the vehicles on the list do have genuine manufacturing and design faults.

    1 glaring miss though

BMW , all models : suspect drivers, whose fathers own all the roads

Proven to be driver error. Why didn't they rather make that "certain Toyota/Lexus models"?

I was surprised to see the Kia Rio there since it had a decent crash rating. Did some googling and there were only 2 sources for this information.

The web-site above and MSN. MSN showed the older model.

These don't really include sources so who knows what "research" they are based on. My 2c, Google your car and decide

EDIT: Well finally found a source that confirm the older Kia Rio wasn't very safe (side impact rated poor, eish) http://www.iihs.org/ratings/ratingsbyseries.aspx?id=587

    Thinking of buying from Esquire?

You'll save a few rand in the short term until you are their next victim, the next, yet another or another.

Probably because most people buying them can't handle Corvettes. The same applies to any other fast car with an unskilled idiot behind the wheel.
