Thread: ICC Champions Trophy

  1. #1

    Default ICC Champions Trophy

Any ideas on who's going to take it this year? My bet would be Sri Lanka or India.

India is on the verge of demolishing England at the moment. 98/4, 28 runs needed to win with 32 overs remaining.

Since when have SA played spinners well? Since when have we done well on the sub-continent pitches?

No the winner will come from one of India, Pakistan or Sri Lanka. I also find it difficult to write off Australia. But I will have to go with Sri Lanka on this one. Muri will do very well!

SA can't even get past NZL and NZL haven't played since March or April I think

9 down and almost over!! Kemp and Smith the only ones showing some backbone.
What "top order" we have to ask ourselves - 0, 0, 8, 8 and 1 (polly)?? and guys are backing SA on those pitches, ELOL

The writing should have on the wall when Smith and Pietersen took wickets. C'mon, these aren't real spinners of the ball?

edit: ok all over for 108!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sri Lanka .....ehm.... er .... New Zealand.

Silly bgger didn't even know who he was playing.

Once again, Flemming is laughing his head off at the monkey captaining SA.

edit: He's an embarrasment to SA and the Proteas. Not sure who's worse capt or coach.

depends.. so far it looks like pitch is playing a big role in some stadiums.

Pitches arent great but ive actually enjoyed it where the skill of the batsmens defense is also important. I dont like those flat pitches where each team makes like 270/280 and the spinners and fast bowlers have no chance, which is usually the case in india and sometimes in sa too.. (aus v sa, 434 game)
Batsmen jst stand and play thru the line cos theres no movement at all..

Smith is a monkey, i dunno how he could blame the pitch. they both played on it and he chose to field first.

I also think sa is short a batsmen... Kemp at 5 and boucher at 6. Thats dodgy. Kemp isnt really a genuine batsmen that can bat thru the game and on these pitches you need genuine batsmen at 5... Im sorry to say it and i feel bad for andrew hall, but he has to be dropped, esp in this series. put back ab,then ull have 5 decent top order batsmen and kemp at 6. boucher 7 and pollock 8.....
viva JZ viva. Bring me my rifle.
