Thread: Line Speed Upgraded to 2MB do I need to call Mweb to increase speed?

  1. #1

Default Line Speed Upgraded to 2MB do I need to call Mweb to increase speed?

Telkom has done an upgrade on my 1MB line.
Do I need to call Mweb to get the better speeds or will it be done automatically?
I am on the R339 all inclusive package.
What do you call a sperm counter in Afrikaans?

    TELKOM!

    Hi Silkman

If you wish to take advantage of the new speeds you will need to notify us to upgrade your account and then decide if you wish to go onto the 2Mb premium or standard account

Could you please point me to the differences between the 2?

Your website site says the 2MB is R399- that's what I'm paying now for 1MB line + uncapped data.
So what package must I take to be on the same package that I am on now but with the higher speed?

You are on the 1Mb premium all inclusive uncapped at R339.

You can either let us know that you wish to stay on the this account or you can choose to upgrade to the 2Mb premium all inclusive for R509 or you can choose to move to the 2Mb standard all inclusive package for R339.

What's the difference between premium and standard
There's no premium and standard option on the website?

The thresholds are different for these packages.

The premium 2Mb account threshold is around 200Gb and on the 2Mb standard account is around 70Gb

Heres the link for the standard packages and then on the left hand side you will see an option for the Premium Uncapped adsl

    very confusing!
What's the threshold on the 1MB that I am on?
What happens after the threshold is reached ?

The threshold on the 1 Mb accounts are around 100Gb

If you go over that amount in a 30 day rolling window then your account will be throttled.
