I read a song of fire & ice in double quick time and I now regret reading the books so fast.

Why? What does it matter if it takes you a little longer to finish a book?

Forgetting the characters? That's the biggest problem I have these days if I take too long on a particular book.

During Vacation time... a week or maybe two.

During the rest of the year... it can take months as I only have time to read just before bed.

Yeah. I've read books slowly or put them down for some time and then I forgot what happened at the beginning or who the characters are. Age is a horrible thing

By and large, Goodreads ratings/reviews seem to me to be more honest than those on Amazon.

    Isn't it just!

I end up paging back through the book and getting to a section and thinking: "hell, this looks interesting, how did I miss this?" and then reading it all over again until the grey cells remake the connection

Couple of months or weeks. I mostly only have time when I go to bed to read a bit.

During holidays though maybe a week.

For those interested in post-apocalyptic type books, have a look at Wool (Omnibus Edition) by Hugh Howey. I was pleasantly surprised.

So I've finally completed the Dune series. What a mother cliffhanger ending? Are the ending books by the son worth reading?

Business eats a lot of my time and I spend a lot of it on the road. Recently I re-ignited my love of reading via audiobooks from audible.com

Absolutely fabulous. I urge you to try it if you have not already.
(Must admit that it is not everyone cup of tea - but it works great for me.)
