adsl performance decrease since dec 06

Hey guys

Noticed a decrease in ping times etc since december...
Had my 384k line installed in early dec, got WebAfrica shaped and unshaped accounts;
I was originally getting 250ms avg ping times in GuildWars etc, but its since gone up to about 450ms!

Any ideas?

Also, should I notice faster pings using the unshaped account, or will it just give me more consistent ping times for the entire day (as I understand it) as opposed to the shaped account

From what I can tell DSL is so hopelessly oversubscribed for the useless infrastructure they have in place that it is reduced to glorified dialup.
 
The performance of my ADSL has seriously gone to the dogs when Telkom did away with ADSL192 and upped everyone to 384. Sometimes the performance is worse than dialup. Sad, very sad. We're forced to pay so much for something which seriously under performs.
