They forgot about Copeland which was their Vista like followup to Mac OS 9 which never shipped ... instead they bought NeXT and NeXT OS morphed into OS X.

So why did they feature Taligent which was just a pie in the sky go nowhere research project ???.

The failure of Copeland was even more dire for Apple than Taligent ... heck at the time they even looked at Windows NT with Apple enhancements as an option .

You should ask them - it's their list I noticed someone queried it in the comments section.

I am with JStrike on that one ... My dad had a "Portable computer", roundabout the mid 80's that looked pretty much the same as the Mac Portable

Yeah, I don't think the newton should be anywhere near position 1 on the list.

I've always harboured a desire for one.

this all is only proving, that you can't plan success.

My best example is the GSM SMS service; what was at first a free product developed itself into one of the biggest cash cows in history.
