Default Help: 3G card no longer working under Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty Fawn?

    Hi all,

I previously used my 3g card (Huawei E620) successfully on Ubuntu 6.06 (and also under VMWare/Windows). I recently upgraded my system to Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty Fawn and can no longer get my 3g to work! I don't remember if I did anything special under 6.06 to make it work..?

Under linux, using the usual wvdial.conf setup as suggested by Tazz_tux and many others, I don't even get passed the AT+CPIN command -- keep getting "ERROR". (and therefore subsequent init commands also fail). ATZ does report "OK" and ATI shows the correct manufacturer (HUAWEI) so /dev/ttyUSB0 is working..

Under VMWare, Windows doesn't even pick up the card as it did before!, but I just want it to work under Linux for now..

Has anyone been able to get 3G to work on Ubuntu 7.04?

    Thanks a lot!!!

Here's some troubleshooting info in case it helps:

    Default Huawei E620 doesn't works with 2.6.20

    Hi,

Huawei E620 doesn't works with 2.6.20 kernels, like the one that Feisty sports. I already reported the bug to the Ubuntu devs: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s....20/+bug/97310

    although it also affects upstream.
