Is anyone perhaps interested in playing some online fantasy rugby for the World Cup?

There is a free one with prizes at www.wakenipa.com

We could even get a MyADSL challenge group together and see who would be the best replacement for Jake after the tournament!

Go Bokke!

Could do...

I think I prefer the wakenipa one though as for the official one you have unlimited transfers each round, which I think is less challenging.

yes, but the wakenipa one doesn't give any recognition for support players. i.e. only points for scoring.

The IRB one gives points for scrums won against the head, line outs against won on opposition throw, line breaks etc. Also missing penalties and conversions results in negative points. Also, the initial budget is really tight and you are limited to 2 players per country in the early rounds. So "unlimited" transfers is not really such an advantage.

Fair enough.

But Wakenipa do also give points for appearances and if your player is part of a winning team then you also get extra points.

I think it's quite nice that the scoring is simple as you can easily see whether your player is doing well during a game. eg. If Schalkie scores a try then I know I can jump up and down. But if the score is based on lots of different factors like tackles missed, line breaks, etc. then it's a bit of a black box and I have to wait for the scores to come out.

Are you allowed to pick more than 2 from a team in later rounds? Otherwise you wouldn't be able to pick a full team from the semis.
