Thread: Help needed programming a remote

Question Help needed programming a remote

Our gate motor's code or something has been reset. I now want to try and program the remote for the maid. It is a Nova 2 button remote....

Can anyone help me please... I really don't feel like paying someone R500 to do something like that.

    Thanks

I have a BFT motor (I think). With mine you just open up the box, thers a jumper that needs to be moved, a LED will come on, the press the button on the remote, wait for the LED to flicker, and you done.

You Motor might be working the same way.

Check the Manual here for your motor.

If you open the remote(s), is there a line of mini DIP switches with numbers on them?

No it's not one of those... Its one of those that you need to program at the gate itself... But me living in a complex given there is only 12 houses. But still can you imagine how upset the neighbours are going to be if I don't reset my remote but the gate instead

Usually it's just the one remote, it basically copies the code to the remote. Just check the manual to make sure.

Those are one the older type remotes. Most new ones use Hopping/Rolling Code. I think the frequency changes each time the remote is pressed (something like that)

You might need the MASTER remote to program additional remotes, better to contact the body corporate and ask permition.

Yea, I'll rather contact the BC lady... She's scarry I mean the type where even when you are 50 she will still make you think twice to cross swords... She rules their household with an iron fist....
She would kill if the gate gets screwed up

SO you need to program one for the maid well its simple for the nova rolling or fixed code.
The only problem is that you need to get to the reciever box,YOu also need to program latched or for pulse operation,Not ver y easy hey.
Best ask before you can put that jumper in that box,Your nextdoors might be furious
