*itch*itch* Who else here has had hives? *scratch*scratch*

    Anyone else here has/had hives?

I'm having hell here for the past 4 or 5 days. Usually starts in the afternoon/evening goes well into the night. Still have some swelling in the morning, which goes away by the time I get to work.

it is a nervous condition...spreads like crazy...get Allergex (at any pharmacy without perscription) an anti-histamine to help the symptom but not the cause...sorry having a rocky horror picture show flashback...

Hives: A raised, itchy area of skin that is usually a sign of an allergic reaction. It can be rounded or flat-topped but is always elevated above the surrounding skin. It reflects circumscribed dermal edema (local swelling of the skin). The hives are usually well circumscribed but may be coalescent and will blanch with pressure. They typically last less than 4 hours but they may stay for days or weeks. Approximately 20% of the population has experienced a bout of hives.

The hives are also called urticaria.

Just be glad you haven't got it. You almost feel like scratching your skin off.

This morning my left eye was almost swollen shut .

I've had hives about a year ago, but this time it seems worse. Have take medication now. Will see how it goes.

If it's not itchy, could be a STD.
Now, if only the Linutics could accept that just because it's *free* software, it isn't necessarily and automatically *good* software...

i had it very bad when I was struggling about 5 years ago...really bad and it is just nerves and anxiety...you have to think about what is causing the reaction...mostly anxiety about a situation that causes it to start and then you start scratching and then it spreads.

Go and see your GP and get some help for the symptom and to sound really corny now...talk to someone about the stuff that is bothering you...it might be the cause of the hives.
