Default Zyxel P-660HW-T3 v2 Modem Problems

Hi Guys,

I have the above mentioned modem, which decided to give me problems last night. All of a sudden (while surfing), it just disconnected and refused to reconnect even after restarting it. I contacted Telkom, and according to them my line is fine. They advised me to reset the modem, which I did, but I can still not connect it to the internet. Has anybody experienced something similar with this type of modem? Could a firmware upgrade fix this? Could setting it up manually (instead of using the wizard) fix this? Any other suggestions?

Please help!

Thanks,
J

Can one of the mods please move this to the correct thread?

Contact Rectron Technical Department for assistance 011 203 1000. They are the Zyxel agents and should be able to assist you.

Open up Hyperterminal and connect to the right COM port

Lookup up the Hayes command set and type in the following:

atdt<TELKOM MODEM NO> ENTER remove <>

Look if the modem gets dialtone and then dial out via tone method and not pulse method (d-dial. t-tone in the atdt)

at&f - reset to default configurations

Establish of the modem connected to the remote modem , check to see if the line is dropped and iof their are any errors
