So I called their adsl fault report, Within three minutes my call was answered and reported. Received feedback via sms on the progress of my fault.

This morning early had a techie out and 20 minutes later my line and adsl sorted. They have further assured me the cable that caused the line fault would be replaced soon....

Now that's what I call service as this is their busiest time of the year with all the storms.

Clearly their is no excuse for poor service....Hint hint to Notel.
Happened to us as well.

Noise on the line was causing the router to lose sync regularly. The techie switched our line over to another, spare set, and we never had a problem since.

But, in all honesty, I must say that their call center did drop the ball on the initial fault report - and only when we followed up, discovered that it wasn't entered on the ticket system.

At least Telkom was quick to sort the issue out, and didn't drag their feet.

LOL. It's been a very long time since I had to deal with Telkom support, but the major issue I had with them was the time taken for my call to be answered. I think the average waiting time was over 40 minutes, but once my call was answered, I found Telkom support staff to be well informed and technically superior to Neotel's call center staff.

On the issue of long waiting times, Neotel has their bad days too. I've recently waited over 30 minutes for Neotel to answer my call and I've also had instances where their toll free line becomes engaged when they are experiencing high call volumes. Once I got through, the staff were, as usual, completely ignorant of faults/maintenance on their network and generally were not much help.

What is the most serious problem you've had them try to resolve for you?

I've never had anything except awesome service from Telkom. My parents have an ADSL line and in the times it has stopped working, they have managed to rectify the problem speedily or they gave us an accurate timeline of when repairs were expected to be completed.

if only i can afford going back to Uncapped DSL... Right now I have other priorities, so it can stay unreliable for a little longer... just so frustrating that its so SLOW when you do want to use it... Right now web pages are taking long to load, and my torrents not picking up a thing!

Just got my final bill from NoTel, its a doozie and I hope they are in for a fight because I will not give up and just throw money at them.

They are a bunch of crooks and deserve nothing.

Haha good move
Glad I didn't have a debit order so they will get nothing.
Just sent an email to them stating that I refuse to pay the device fee, they will most probably ignore it anyway.

Just over R1800.00
Although I am still trying to figure out why I was charged R1200 Termination fee.

There was not that many months left on my contract unless they have hidden costs, which I suspected as much anyway.
So there we go they even over billed me on the termination, should have been R90 X number of months left.
