    Vodacom 400gigs day + 400 gigs night for R229

Ah, I must've missed relevant posts about what you had. I wouldn't even be able to get through the 300 + 300 each month, but gather it might have to do with less restricted speeds on the 400 .... though now, confusing which packages contain which T's & C's. Btw, I almost went for the final 400...

    Vodacom 400gigs day + 400 gigs night for R229

They might do similar deals again in only 10 months time. Did you not know about these deals, as all in all, they ran for about 4 weeks ?

Why Fibre ? 2022 the nightmare continues

All they come back with is : "Hero Wireless Available" .... with very slow speeds & high prices compared to the LTE I'm currently using, but thanks anyway.

Im so tired of complaining about rain

Well, you wouldn't get that kind of service (I doubt) from Telkom, MTN or Voda ... but also likely wouldn't have to go through any of this, for far better speeds.

Telkom Mobile Speed, Disconnections & Coverage Problems – click here first!

I don't get these or MTNs notifications coming through, even though signed up for them in Afrihost's app. Just checked - lock screen and floating notifications both on for Afrihost on my phone, so don't know why they don't show up. EDIT : speak of the devil ; Telkom's message came through.

    Telkom Data is Getting Slower.

You should find "Network settings" (or similar, like "frequency") in the router's settings. If you do, try setting (saving) to 1800 MHz (B3 only) and 2300 MHz (B40 only), as well as "4G only" etc. - each one individually, of course. Do speedtests for each and see if you get better results...

    Telkom Data is Getting Slower.

Maybe time to try out other mobile ISPs. MTN might be a good option, even if you don't want to go the contract route. Presume you're aware you can get them through Afrihost / Axxess etc.? ..... but with slightly more stringent T's & C's. Also depends on how much data you need each month. My...

    Afrihost MTN Fixed LTE-A Thread

I suggest logging into the router settings .... It's probably set to "Auto" in Network Selection (or similar description depending on router). Change to (if able) & test on "B3 Only" ; I find I get better, more consistent results. Also try "4G only" & see if it improves, but for me it's...

    Telkom Data is Getting Slower.

Fortunately, where I am, LTE's still significantly faster. Most I ever got on 3G was around 35 Mbps, but the ping quite a bit higher as well than LTE - somewhere in the mid 40ms compared to LTE of mid to late 20's. So Telkom 3G not much a proposition for me while 1800 and 2300 LTE bands...

Im so tired of complaining about rain

I clearly told a fib .... this must be my last post, though. Mickey, countless others have told you you'll get nowhere with Rain, and worst of all you / your family keep paying them for a virtually non-existent service. You must have some reason you've not let on about? ; and it cannot be that...

Im so tired of complaining about rain

I first tested a Rain SIM for the R249 package about 3 years ago and got similar terrible speeds to the OP. Decided to stick with slow ADSL (2,5 Mbps down) until switching to LTE when it became more reasonable. I've suggested competitive MTN equivalents already, month to month through Axxess &...
