    Rate Web Squad (Not Official)

I've had nothing but good service and support from them. The only issues I've had with the network was a slightly higher ping over the last few weeks due to the cable breaks.

    Rate Web Squad (Not Official)

It seems unfair that Web Squad didn't get their own rating thread, so I thought I'd create an unofficial one. So I'm doing a forum survey on how happy subscribers are with their ISP. Please rate Web Squad in the poll above based on value-for-money, network quality, and general service...

    Rate Cool Ideas

Was with Cool Ideas for about 2 years, finally left in November 2019. For the first 18 months, things went well. But then we started to get issues. First was a fiber break. I raised a ticket, called them about 10 minutes afterwards and was promised the ticket would be sent to vumatel...

    Fibre speeds

Most streaming services use local bandwidth. Normally, on fibre, local bandwidth (including netflix, due to local caching) is almost always full speed. What tends to slow down at peak hours is international traffic. At least that's my experience, but I'm not on OpenServe.

I don't live at Jackal Creak, but I know someone that lived there. This was about 4 years ago. At that time, everything internet wise was done through Smart Village which I believe has now been rebranded to SuperSonic see...

Cool Ideas Fibre ISP – Feedback Thread 2

Yes you do have to return the router when you leave and the ethernet cable that came with it in the box. CISP arrange for it to be collected, or you can drop t off at their offices,

Cool Ideas Fibre ISP – Feedback Thread 2

The reason a VPN helps is because the DDOS is mostly affecting the international links. With a VPN, you connect to another network via local traffic and use their international links to get traffic in/out of SA, so the traffic doesn't go through the pipes that are most affected by the DDOS.

Cool Ideas Fibre ISP – Feedback Thread 2

Was having lots of issues with various sites, the wife was unable to login to runescape. I changed my DNS servers to 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8, now everything is working fine, even installing apps from the MS app store, which was previously failing. So somehow, there is still some sort of DNS issue

    Supersonic fibre settings for router

I notice you have PPPoE Passthrough enabled, try disabling that, save your settings and reboot. PPPoE passthrough is normally used to put the router into bridging mode, which would then require you to run a PPPoE client on your PC to connect. Which isn't what you want.

Cool Ideas Fibre ISP - Feedback

I've been with Cool Ideas now for just under two years and haven't regretted the decision at all. But a lot depends on your last mile provider. I'm with one of the better options (Vumatel trenched) and over the last two years barring an occasional glitch with international traffic, all of my...

Cool Ideas Fibre ISP - Feedback

@PBCool I'm on Vumatel Trenched, in Weltevredenpark. We were disconnected and got the usual blue light flashing after a power failure. But now, I'm online and connection is perfect, but the blue light is still flashing. Does this need reporting or can I just ignore it ? It's just I've never...
