    oh ok i see now...This is how i though it was set up

    Router (192.168.0.1)-----(red cable)--Smoothie----(green cable)---Hub------Local area network

    Never thought i had to bridge the connection EISH more work now..

    But makes sense because the smoothie needs the credentials to dial out ? This makes me wanna give up im in IT and i cant even figure this our GGGRRRRRRR

    Sorry cant get my head around this when i restart the smoothie it tries to download something. Unable to connect could not download patches list.. Green Nic is 192.168.0.10 ADSL modem is 192.168.0.1 i put red as DHCP with Primary DNS as 192.168.0.10 secondery DNS i used the ISP one 196.43.43.160... if i plug my laptop in the hub i get an address fine just cant surf net and have left it half open ?

    tried the forums but no answer so far :(

    thanks boet lol was wondering if i needed the switch lol now i see ok brilliant. Hope this has wireless security as well as i have a mix of wired and wireless machines thanks for the help dude and sorry for bothering you so early in the morning

    So its ADSL Router then 2 cat5 cables 1 in to red 1 in to green is that correct ? also on the configuration page do i enable ADSL ?? because my router is not on the list. Just wondering if i got the topology correct because i think i dident been trying to read the forum but still no luck. Looks like an awesome product but would love to get it up and running 100%

    hi bud wanted to know if you reccomend smoothi i want to use it for a house with 5 machines hooked to an ADSL line ?
    or should i just stick to the routers firewalls and normal stuff ?

    Ah I see. Will try to install it onto some old flash I have lying around to see how much the logging influences speed etc. Thanks for the help!

    That guide you posted in that thread of mine about installing smoothie on a flash disk is a bit above my head :(
    Is that script merely for optimizing it for flash reads/writes or for detection of the flash drive as well during installation?

    Thanks I will try that and see if I can get it to work. Nice that you can split it up into different files, cause I can for instance ban the whole of Russia (lots of problems solved :)) in one file, advertisers in another, Zeus hosts in a different one etc...
