I find when I'm in the UAE and Qatar they're awesome people to be around. And they also don't seem to be supportive of the whole "we're migrants and coming to convert your country" thing... I don't know just find them to be easy to get along with and not aggressive like others.

I think 99% of Muslims everywhere are awesome people and just want to live in peace, it's the extremists that are the problem.

1% of 1.8 billion is kind of lot of people, don't you think ? But nvm, focus should be on Islam as ideology. It has to be ridiculed, put to shame and be normalized to be ridiculed just as Christianity is these days.

Honestly, not sure ridiculing someone's beliefs it they way forward. But I do agree that they need to come to the realisation that their beliefs are their alone and their prescriptions don't apply to everyone.

I think that will give us a better understanding of what the problem is

The biggest problem is that people who are brought up in a religion don't always think rationally when considering it. It's not just that the tenants might not be real, leaving a religion has very real consequences on family and social relationships. People leaving leaving Islam tend to be shunned/looked down upon (even Christians do this). Some people decide that it' isn;t worth it.

Not an easy answer, some countries do parts of Sharia, others are a lot more all encompassing. AI says this...

1) The 99% was my opinion, hence the phrase "I Think" , I never claimed it had any statistical basis.
2) What evidence do you have to support the idea that every Muslim who lives under Sharia law does not want to live in peace?

It is just one way. Ridicule of Christianity by George Carlin is how I started my journey towards non belief and I was not Christian. Penny dropped when other religion was being ridiculed.

You can draw caricature of Jesus anywhere in the world and you will live. Do the same with a 54 year old guy that married 6 year old girl and Islamic Epstein believers will behead you willingly. Beheading is written in Islamic scriptures so whether as a Muslim, you believe it not is a moot point.

The two teenage suspects opened fire outside the Islamic Centre of San Diego in a suspected hate crime driven by racial pride and anti-Islamic bias.
