Things that irritate you - Part 3

Had a guy pull that **** with me as well. When I insisted on his address so I can tell him to his face to sit and rotate, the line suddenly dropped.

YouTube launches setting to fight comment scams

I had a few from Mr Beast telling my viewers he’s also servicing watches. YT put those under review straight away. Needless to say I didn’t even bother to look, just nuked it.

That one is the Tortoise. It's case looks almost identical to the Turtle but it's a little smaller (42.5 vs 45.4mm). This also uses a coin edge bezel with no click, where the Turtle uses the traditional diver's bezel with clicks

Will switching off geysers prevent loadshedding?

Hahaha no that means I'll have to employ someone to manage that. I'll stick with using a little more power (I have solar panels) than trying something I'm too stupid to understand

Will switching off geysers prevent loadshedding?

Heh, I wish I can go back to something simple but I run my business from home. Lots of gear that needs to stay on all the time, especially with my home automation as part of it: - Dell Desktop as Blue Iris Server - 10 x IP cameras running over PoE - Ubiquity UDM Pro - 6 x Ubiquity switches - 4...

    Are BMW engines reliable?

Pretty much any modern engine has plastic timing chain guides and has had them for decades. It’s meant to be replaced when the chains are replaced. But if they aren’t being serviced like they should then guess what? It’s not just a BMW thing. Tight tolerances isn’t an issue on BMW engines, it’s...

    Are BMW engines reliable?

Anything related to the cooling system. It's been an issue for decades.

    Are BMW engines reliable?

Yes and no. Most issues I've seen on these is lack of maintenance - mostly lack of oil changes and BMW's insistence on using Castrol - hence Vanos issues. The fact that this is the most common engine (by an order of magnitude over other models) makes it appear worse than the others. Make no...

    Are BMW engines reliable?

Only really problematic engines on BMW are the N13 (2012-2017 116i, 118i, 316i) and N20(2012-2016 120i, 320i, 328i, Z4, X1, 520i, 528i). Funny enough these aren't made by BMW, but Peugeot. The N47A(2007-2009 120d,320d,X1) had issues with the timing chain stretching because of failing fuel...

Ok, the forum is live. Sorry Admins if I'm stepping over the line to promote another forum :) Whew, first time setting up a forum so there might be many little niggles - just bear with me. It's pretty bare at the moment, I'll post more stuff on there as I find time but for now please go there...

Hmmm, thing is to overcome the water resistance issue is going to be a show stopper. Pretty much none of the vintage watches sold have any kind of water resistance guarantee - for the reasons I explained above. Once the gasket mating surfaces have been pitted by rust there's simply no way to fix...

Let me think of something that‘s practical then. Maybe start a little WhatsApp group for nerds and interested parties, with progress updates on builds and trade. I’m up for suggestions of course

    Video Editing

Started a new project just yesterday using it and so far so good. In fact I’ve used beta 3 on a previous project without show stopping issues, except for some Fusion hiccups.

Hmmm, the expectation of a warranty is fair so that wouldn’t be an issue. What I won’t be able to offer is any form of water resistance guarantee. Thing is, some watches might be in great condition case wise, others might have had water do damage to mating surfaces of gaskets. Once pitting has...

Yup, I’ve bought from them as well. Thing is they only have 009’s in stock (at $450 before shipping) and for some reason, the 007’s are more popular. If you can find a 007 new, you’re gonna pay at least $600 up for it. Yes, it boggles the mind. I was just trying to figure out if there’s local...
