"Young adults" with big cars RANT

So what? I'm just glad that I have a car that I can go to work to, and see that people get flashy cars in their 20's, they haven't learnt one thing: because when they need the money urgently, they don't have it, because they spent it all on their cars. So, do the smart thing. Invest or save. Be...

DStv must share Rugby World Cup games for free – DA

How about DSTV offer exclusive access to the RWC games online with DSTV Now? Like R50 per user for the game (Pay per view) A lot of people are going to pay that rather than having a premium DSTV subscription, or go to the bar every time SA plays.

DStv must share Rugby World Cup games for free – DA

I don't have a DSTV subscription, (R500+ for useless channels)? would rather sit at home and watch pirate streams. This free broadcasting of the RWC games would be nice, not nice when you a handful of money to DSTV just for Sports channels, and the rest of the channels is useless.

SA Post Office stole my smartwatch - South African customer

Instead of using SAPO, I saw that Buffalo is really good... Banggood uses their service, albeit cheap, but much better than the post office, but couriering included, and delivery within 2/3 weeks after shipping!

Mass surveillance by SA government ruled unlawful

I condemn this as well. While South Africa may/may not have the infrastructure to do this, what are their goals? Just have look at mass surveillance in the US, to name a few. I liked the series Person of Interest, while entirely fictional, it may become a real threat. I don't like the idea of...

    Buying a phone from China

Just get the model number, and do your research, make sure its compatible with the cellular bands, etc. Bought a OP6T off Gearbest (Hong Kong) and it works flawlessly here in South Africa. My brother bought himself a OP6 a while ago, and I bought a Redmi 5 as well, all from Gearbest.

So what's up with this new Coke less sugar crap?!

The first attempt of introducing natural sweetener for Coke was called Coke Life, that green blikkie coke. Now this. What next? Oh, and Sprite in the US tastes like dishwater.

I had the idea of changing to Telkom, but I ordered a Telkom package as well, but the speeds was similiar, not that great. Cancelled Telkom package soon after, returned the router. So, I am waiting for fibre... Still waiting for approval for installation from landlord. As soon as the fibre is in...

I am with WebAfrica, Fixed LTE (CellC/IS) month to month "contract", can stop anytime. Fast.com results of normal connection: Speedtest.net with VPN to my VM in the US - Fast.com: with VPN to my VM in the US - Speedtest.net: I can live with the VPN upload speed and terrible ping...

Cell C Black Streaming Media Device

You mean this thing? https://mybroadband.co.za/news/broadcasting/237654-cell-c-black-streaming-box-launched.html/amp There is no such thing as 'jailbreak' for Android. The proper term here is 'root'. Jailbreak - term for iOS "root" - meaning modifying system files and using exploits in the...

    What the hell is this?

I think your neighbor is not using his. That pic you posted, looks like nothing is connected to the device? Also, I think that looks like a MikroTik "dish". Or a Ubiquiti. And yes, like Rickster said, it is primarily used for internet access, or for private network access like to Vodacom's...

Cell C explains why it is shutting down fixed-LTE

Ja, but what about the towns that have no fibre? The only internet access they have is ADSL and WISP. Not even Telkom LTE coverage in that area. Take Ermelo, for one.

Cell C explains why it is shutting down fixed-LTE

Fixed-LTE can also refer to LTE-A, depends if the device is above LTE Cat. 6 which is much faster than normal LTE itself. On my OP6T, i see most of the times my mobile data connection is LTE+ (Think they refer to LTE-A) on Vodacom Source...
