    Interesting, I did this yesterday as Apple Music in iTunes was unusable. 15s for a song to start, browse and for you pages taking 30+s to load. Switch to GDNS, all works fine again o_O

    100% it was a TIC comment, the problem is while going out west for CPT and JHB is awesome, it doesn't really translate for us Dirtbinners...

    FYI, same here. IMO Durban is CISPs red-headed step-child... this is my link at work CISP @ Home nearly 20ms jitter too [ok, not entirely, but ping "spikes" of 20ms...] (left it running a bit longer and at 674pings, loss is at 0.2% too)

    @PBCool I know there was some issue in the beginning of the year where Vumatel "re-provisioned" my line, but deleted everything right down to the ONT peering. I just wanted to check why I'm getting 20mbps tonight, but when I went to the Vuma portal to run a test, I get this;

    Mik themselves have made efforts to make their units end-user friendly. But ROS really isn't meant to be a "Trendnet" or "TPLink" replacement... inbound UDP53 can very easily be left open... I also wonder how many people tick "Web-Proxy" out of curiosity, and then leave it ticked.... (without...

    From what I’ve pieced together, we endure these constant network issues so that WHEN it works, international ping is marginally less... I for one. Can live with 5ms higher and have an ok connection when I actually need it.

    Vuma Durban (PON) I think this is disconnects too. as I had a 6GB HPE iso downloading and it failed @2GB in Chrome, clicked retry and it continued. Let me know if you want and I'll PM you my IP.

    My Vuma PON line was fine since yesterday morning. My mates on OS are battling with latency. The one Karen'd action out of CISP and they reset a port and apparently it's ok now. I've told the other oke to load a ticket. (and pray)

    Yup, I think their Network here is sub-par, support crap aside, there are way too many "Carrier" issues that are specific to back-haul from DBN-JHB. I refuse to give my money to MTN through supersonic. just no. At this point, our expectations are so low, Afrihost is probably back on the table.....
