Ace’s son evicted from Gupta house

Do these guys have any significant skills? I suspect that they can only steal their way through life. Signs like this makes me wonder if the dominoes haven't slowly started to fall.

JUST IN: Government's new energy plan gazetted

Separating Nuclear from possible is in my view almost impossible. This is why it is running such a high costs. I am now at ITER that is already running at 20 billion, initial predictions put it at 5 billion. No one seriously believed the latter figure from the start. That being said, 20...

having worked on the project myself my experience has been that it was a political project from the start.

JUST IN: Government's new energy plan gazetted

I just hope that the government looks at either the EPR or the AP1000 design. The AP1000 has in my view the best safety systems.

JUST IN: Government's new energy plan gazetted

Good decsion if it goes through. I am sceptical of 'immediate', Nuclear licensing takes a MINIMUMof 5 yeras , places such as Hinkley Point that I've worked out took up to 10 years. It is not something that South Africa can just bypass, we have IAEA regulations to abide with.

EFF supporters celebrate as Mashaba expropriates 37 abandoned factories

If the owners are really untraceable then I don't see a problem with this.

Mashaba: I'll leave if DA is taken over by Right Wing elements

Is it just me or has the IRR becomes very assertive in the last few years? They always used to be there, but they have moved from a board room think tank to an organisation that is far more in the every day news. I suspect that their strategy is paying off. What surprises me however is that...

Is it possible to fight the climate crisis and eat some meat?

There is lots of evidence tracing Veganism back to 7th day adventism. The US diary guidelines were created by a Vegan. The unintended consequences was that we put too much sugar in our diet. We can blame them for all the heart problems and high levels of diabete. Gary Taubes documented this...

Is it possible to fight the climate crisis and eat some meat?

They have other exernalities that you're not considering such as mass deforestation due to a reliance on wood. Those countries are in the process of developing and they will need C02 to get to where the first world countries are. It is unrealistic to expect them not to develop. The C02...

Is it possible to fight the climate crisis and eat some meat?

I dispute that. In third world countries people are using wood to make a living, while in countries like France we are using Nuclear power. First world countries have higher energy dense technologies, which is why we get more output. The dirty truth however is that we need to emitte a certain...

Is it possible to fight the climate crisis and eat some meat?

My grandmother for example migrated from a karoo farming community and had 6 children. She was a white Afrikaner. Today most Afrikaners have 1-2 kids. All societies go through this trend. It takes only 1 generation of breading.

Is it possible to fight the climate crisis and eat some meat?

You're wrong to have it enforced, the one child policy had disasterous consequences in China for example. Not having kids is a consequence of a country being developed and educated. The root cause is not having children, it is living in an agrarian under-urbanised society. The tragectory is...

Is it possible to fight the climate crisis and eat some meat?

Renewables themselves cannot save us, the price is still to high and required landuse to big. They will most likely go to natural gas (which is cleaner than coal), or in my view Nuclear should be an option on the table. The point is that population control automatically happens in rich...

Is it possible to fight the climate crisis and eat some meat?

The most sensible policy in my view is to holistically manage livestock and to regenerate the word's graslands. The cow is the environmentalist's public enemey number one, but they hold the key to solving the problem of carbon sequestration in the soil.

https://humanprogress.org/dwline?p=228&yf=1960&yl=2014&high=0&reg=1&reg1=0 You will find that as soon as countries develop to a certain level then they reach an inflextion point. In the US this was around 2005.

Is it possible to fight the climate crisis and eat some meat?

That is also nonsense. The best that you can do is to increase your overall wealth. Environmentalism is a rich man’s problem.

Is it possible to fight the climate crisis and eat some meat?

Sure ideally we want more grasfed cows. Most people can agree on that. Realistically we need to feed millions of people.
