Your phone needs to have VoLTE enabled. If your phone doesn't support it, then you'll need to use the Rain talk app as your default dialer to make/receive calls.
That's the one I'm using, but for R200 more you can get up to 60mbps which should be more than enough for 4k streaming. 30mbps is enough for one 4k stream, but it's basically at the limit, so it might buffer if you do anything else on the network while streaming.
Yes you can if you get the full 30mbps. You can also look at MTN's home internet plans where you can get 35mbps for R499 p/m, but I would suggest to go with Rain if you also want the lowest latency.
I used to be with Supersonic, and then changed to Rain 5G. Latency is much better for gaming, and they also don't have streaming limits on their basic/standard packages anymore.
I really don't understand why a little rain is always an issue for the FIA. It's ridiculous. What's the point of having wet tires available if they're never going to be used?
On 5G Basic, and can confirm that streaming quality is much better now:
4k 30fps is running fine, but 4k 60fps struggles a bit. Not bad for an entry level package.
Agreed. If streaming was the real issue, then other providers would've implemented similar limits on streaming quality.
If you're getting unusually bad speeds all of a sudden, then it's most likely due to a different problem.
People need to realize that if a tower goes offline for whatever...
I don't think it's fair to blame the increased streaming quality for this. The basic and standard packages are still limited to 25 & 50mbps. This is most likely a problem with towers going offline due to load shedding, not increased streaming quality. What time did you run this test? I doubt...
I am a happy Rain customer, but I really think they should remove the streaming limits on their basic, and standard packages to simplify things a bit. Just give people the full 25 and 50 at all times.
To be fair, I don't think you have to worry about expropriation. There's more than enough space for the Legato interchange. Also, some of the narrowest parts are about 60m wide which is more than enough for 8 lanes.
It's really not that bad, it's 1 or 2 extra turns you have to make. Langeberg road is pretty much at full capacity, and can't get any wider, so it makes sense to make Amadeus road the new and improved "Langeberg" road.
Also, just imagine how ugly it will look if they have to elevate the highway...
