    The 2024 Weight loss thread

Just weighed myself and I am down to 114.4kg. At this rate I am going to get a tattoo on my body when I hit goal weight that says "Made by Eli Lilly"

Heat & smoke detection for batteries

Well the Shelly one has a siren and sends an alert. He would want to get the alert so that he knows to get home ASAP. The siren would be to tell the maid and his wife (when she WFH) to get out and get safe.

Heat & smoke detection for batteries

These batteries are installed against the firewall that separates the garage from the living room. Because of the design of the house the bedrooms are on the complete opposite side of the house with an escape through the kitchen (or the bedroom windows) if necessary. I figured it would be a...

Heat & smoke detection for batteries

I have no intention on them relying on the ability to kill the current to the batteries. The first step is a smoke alarm that not only alerts this family member on this phone but also has its own built in siren to alert anyone in the house. That Shelly Smoke alarm has a 5 year battery life...

Heat & smoke detection for batteries

I thought there was no extinguishing a lithium fire once it had started. Where did you buy your extinguisher?

Heat & smoke detection for batteries

Its not a bad idea. I was thinking I could use the Shelly 1 with the add-on, but the cost of that solution is the same as getting the Shelly H&T which can just sit on top of the batteries. The Shoto batteries are getting replaced with Freedom Won LiTE units, likely 4x 10/8. They do report the...

Heat & smoke detection for batteries

Well I wasn't thinking it needs to shut off anything, just needs to alert since the inverter can be shutdown remotely to stop current flowing to the batteries. .

Heat & smoke detection for batteries

Was my first thought since in that house there are a lot of Shelly devices already.

Heat & smoke detection for batteries

So family member had a little scare yesterday. One of his Shoto LiFePo4 batteries started smoking. I am not sure of the cause but thankfully their maid was there to alert them. I think the BMS got fried and that's what was smoking since when the batteries were disconnected it stopped smoking...

    The 2024 Weight loss thread

That makes me angry. Why the hell did the doctor start you on such a high dose? Look at all the issues it has caused.

    The 2024 Weight loss thread

Ouch. I am on Mounjaro and its much cheaper. I am on week 11, took my first 7.5mg dose on Thursday. The kwikpen with Mounjaro gets you 5 doses if you force the last one (the pharmacies all ship you 5 needles so they know you are doing it). Prices vary but with a black Friday special I paid £127...

    The F-35 thread

The Israeli's would use a different suite of computers and gear I would believe. Likely interfaces with Iron Dome and other systems to advise pilots which targets to not engage because they are already targetted. Obviously I am spit balling ideas here.

    The F-35 thread

The Israeli's like to have their orders customised based on what they know about the airspace they will be flying in.

    The F-35 thread

Well I believe the US has the idea to use the Super Hornet as a missile truck. So it stands at the back, the F-35A/B/C penetrate hostile airspace and target all hostile AA systems, and then the Super Hornets launch missiles which then get guided in by the F-35s. Minimal risk, maximum effect.

    MyBB'ers in the United Kingdom

I have no doubt that she will make some friends here and then I will be attending a lot more weddings in my future. The fun of marrying a younger woman. We even have her cousin's wedding the week before ours, so I have to worry about getting a suit for that (I am thinking tan, since its an...

    MyBB'ers in the United Kingdom

Thanks! Flying back in Jan to get the suits made. The cufflinks and tie clips (Star Trek themed) are en route from the US to SA. And the future Mrs Killerbyte just went for her dress fitting today and apparently the owner of the shop wanted to see her in the dress (because said dress is...
