Another update on my saga.
Unlockbase couldn't help me and I was refunded.
Express unlock also couldn't. The phone is hard locked to Total Wireless.
I've tried Total, but I need to phone a department there which isn't practical.
So all in all I guess my gamble didn't pay off.
Hi all
Thought I'd post an update on my experience.
From my online research it seems there was some sort of patch or update which no longer allows you to switch off background battery usage (which stops the phone from connecting to a network in the background and picking up that it's network...
Same issue, but imported mine via Amazon.
Currently trying the paid unlock route, if it works I'll let you know.
Before that I was using a workaround that disables background data to an extent so it does not block the SA sim. Does mean that backups need to be done manually which is a pain...
Ja nee seemed like a good idea on paper, but terrible performance.
My Pixel 3a takes forever to connect to it, sometimes I need to manually connect to the 5Ghz and then only can I switch over to the 2.4Ghz. Streaming via Chromecast is a mess. Line was down to under 1 Mbps this am, had to reset...
Ok but to clarify, they will be billed (for the difference in price) for the faster service if they choose to upgrade to one during the free period, if they signed up for a slower speed and then decided to switch to a faster speed during the free period?
This is what I did, and I had to pay in...
From my understanding and experience you can, but only the package cost that you signed up for originally is covered as part of the free deal.
Thus if the higher speed costs more, you will be billed for the difference between the two every month.
You can then ask to downgrade again before...
Even though my CC issue seems to be better, I do think the wifi performance of this router is a bit funky.
Connecting to it with my phone (Pixel 3a) is a mixed bag, sometimes the 2.4 or 5Ghz SSID's show up and dissapear at random if you look up the available networks, sometimes it doesn't want...
Nothing running that I'm aware of, but will switch off everything else and A/B test and see.
I put the D-Link back on auto channels last night and seems that the Chromecast quality/buffering issue is now resolved, but will give it more time to make sure. @shakes1
