ICASA on why sports is important for MultiChoice

"When a sports match is broadcast, the viewer is uncertain about the outcome. However, once the result has been decided, the content is no longer nearly as desirable." I don't care about live sports as I find it tedious and a waste of time. I just watch highlights of the games I want as it's...

Airlines in South Africa aren't breaking the law by overbooking flights

Try booking on Lift or Flysafair these days. Over R1000 one way to Durban. Crazy! If you want to save money then take the bus.

Calvo Mawela discusses DStv's value offering

But what if I want to do something with my time besides watching muh sports?

Airlines in South Africa aren't breaking the law by overbooking flights

This is why I never bother with flying anymore. It's easier just to get in your car and drive. I find driving a very relaxing experience and I love my car. You can stop out and get out almost anywhere you like while in a plane, you are confined to your tiny seat for hours. At least you have...

Microsoft officially ending support for Windows 10 in October 2025

I am more excited about the Linux-based SteamOS coming to desktop PC's. It will be just like a non-portable Steam Deck with better performance. It will be a great dual-boot option if you only want to play games. You can keep using Windows 10 after October without Internet access. At least...

Fuel prices to remain roughly the same in 2025, with the possibility of an increase in April

You'll remember this when you're paying R100 per litre.

Cool cars expected to launch in South Africa in 2025

Absolutely correct. We need a return to small, cheap bakkies which should be available without the 40% residual as they are so vital to our economy.

Cool cars expected to launch in South Africa in 2025

Does anyone have experience in donkey ownership? I am struggling to do research on this topic. How do you go about buying one and from where? Is R5000 a good price? I'm bored of cars and looking for an alternative.

Fuel prices to remain roughly the same in 2025, with the possibility of an increase in April

There is still the possibility of an insane "Armageddon" war in the Middle East and it will be Israel who lights the match. If that were to happen then slightly increased fuel taxes will be the least of our concern. The Zionists are so far removed from reality that they do not even understand...

The man fighting DStv piracy in South Africa

This guy is a good little corporate stooge and he must be so proud of himself. Those DSTV pirates are such a threat to SA society and we can all sleep peacefully at night, safe in the knowledge that such dangerous criminals are behind bars. Not that DSTV is even worth pirating when you have so...

PlayStation 5 Pro sales go live in South Africa

Great for those who have so much money that they just don't care and can throw down R20K on this as well as a 4K/144 Hz monitor. Can you really still use the term "console peasant" these days? Personally, I would just get a PS5 Digital Slim like a donkey cart peasant and wait for the PS6 for...

DCDT reveals plan for new SABC Bill

"This is similar to what European countries and the United Kingdom have implemented to ensure that predominantly US-based streaming giants are contributing to the socio-economic upliftment in the countries where they operate." It's a terrible idea and this is why we see a plethora of nonsense...

FlySafair foreign ownership complaint coming to a head

So StarSat was forced to shut down for being foreign owned yet it's perfectly fine for FlySafair to keep operating? I am only asking for consistency in the law.

    DStv sport versus the world

MBB defending their corporate overlords as usual. If this publication had just a shred of dignity then they would denounce DSTV's high pricing and monopolistic policies. I would rather just pay R200 to watch a game of rugby in the stadium every now and then.

Proposed 50ppm diesel ban to kick in in four years

"Petrol cars generally produce more carbon dioxide than diesel for every kilometre driven, contributing more to climate change. However, diesel vehicles emit harmful particulates and nitrogen compounds that have a direct negative impact on human health and the environment." This is exactly why...

    South Africans dumping DStv

Ja, this may be a crazy idea and too radical for some but... considered slashing prices to be competitive with Netflix?

Tricks developers use to make you an app or game addict

Train yourself to do the things you hate at first such as lifting weights or learning to play guitar. This is the opposite of blankly staring at lousy games.

Why DStv cannot offer individual channels

Actually I am complaining about the cheap packages. Access is not worth it even for R109 per month unless you live somewhere with no fibre or reliable LTE. Even then, Openview is a much better idea as you get more than Access for a once off payment.

DStv quietly discontinues its FTTH products

These clowns still don't get that no one wants a fixed contract in 2024. Everything is "cancel anytime" now.
