I did see a way to use Efergy locally a while ago but I couldn't get the cert to work in newer versions of Java so I eventually gave up.
Sonoff has a clamp available...

The station runs on Solar and uses 2 AA batteries for backup and cold start.
I have wifi gateway inside about 20m from the station and it uses 915 MHz, they claim it has a range of 60m.
So I purchased a ecowitt weather station on Amazon.com, after import duties and shipping it worked out to less than R3.5 which is very good considering it is almost R7k if you buy it locally.

Hi, no I didn't.
If I want to charge my batteries I need put the kettle or something on otherwise the inverter does not charge it. The next step would be to move the generator to correct inputs on the inverter.
I got my ketle and managed to get it working in LocalTuya fairly easily after I added it to the Smart Life App.
I am just still working out all the codes but I have on/off, current temp and setting temperature working so long.
EDIT: In the LocalTuya integration it did show 2 new entities for...
