Got a rather dodgy looking phone last time I bought from Takealot. Marketplace sellers are importing phones that aren't backed by the full manufacturer warranty, and some features such as Samsung Pay don't work. These are being sold on Takealot.
Time to get a new phone.
Thought of buying a Google Pixel 9 Pro via Amazon USA.
Doesn't seem to work out that much cheaper than buying locally, or not at least compared to buying something like a S24 Ultra locally.
I want to buy in my company name, and not sure that will work out with a proper...
On MTN business. I called 135, and they offered me this
A sim only on a 36 Months Made for Business M at R319.00
Provisions you with: 800 Minutes and 13.0 Gig
I will likely go with the above. These are some of the other options I was given
500 min / 10 gb - R299 *24
800 / 13gb - R319 *36...
So, call 135, follow the prompts to go through to cancellations and ask for retentions...
Don't bother doing this on a Saturday. You just waste a few minutes and you're then told their office is closed and you must call on Monday.
I've been wondering about just going prepaid. When I've run out of voice minutes, it's pretty affordable to just top up with 300 odd minutes... so maybe a small contract / prepaid + top up.
I've been on a BF deal with 600 mins the last few years @ R 149... the MTN dealer hasn't been able to...
I have had a similar BF deal for the last few years. I am not sure exactly how much data - 400/500GB for about R 319
I don't know if they are planning to terminate this.
I have asked the MTN shop, as I have been getting notification for my main mobile number contract ending.
Nobody seems to...
Anyone managed to get onto this? What do they call it?
not too far off from the BF deal I've been on for the last few years. i've been getting 600mins and 25gb data. Don't need that much mobile data though
525 minutes, 15GB data @ R209
that would work for me... havent seen any such offer though.. oh i see you're supposed to dial 135.. an MTN shop / agent usually helps me.. but haven't been able to get through to them.. I check in with them every year around this time.
I received this SMS today.
Looks like they are terminating the sim only contract I've had for a few years now.
Not sure, I have emailed the MTN shop that I opened the account with.
Message read:

I need to redo my pool pump wiring.
I want to put a wifi controller in for the pump, lights etc.
Possibly put in a connection point for some garden lighting while I'm busy with this.
I have a 1,1kw pump.
I have a few unused Sonoff devices here. An electrician I spoke to also suggested the CBI...
I've landed here after realizing I had a leak, losing just over 5000 litres a day.
Still waiting for the bill.
Haven't had any feedback from the municipality after emailing them regarding the leak.
I was looking at the AJAX waterstop device, but looks like that's intended more for indoor...

I've been posting about issues with Skype and geographics numbers since 2016.
It's gotten worse, so I have been looking around.
Vox offers a solution through MS Teams, operator connect.
I can port my geographic numbers.
Doesn't seem that straight forward to get it set up.
Voys offer...
I bought my mother a phone on Takealot.
I see it says "special import"
Supplied by Avtel.
Any issues with these phones?
Are the manufacturer warranties valid? in this case Samsung.
The has a sticker on it that says "36 month warranty with supplier". I have no idea if this will be...
I started using skype numbers in 2015. This worked perfectly for years.
Over the past few years I've started having problems, especially with the Skype Android app.
There were times when the line was terrible, then occasionally the call wouldn't come through at all and I'd notice a missed...
yes, I actually bought one of these off takealot the other day (haven't opened it), and then read about the probe solution on this thread. These floating thermometers probes don't go very deep into the water, so I would think that they read the temp nearer the top of the water.
I couldn't find...
