Could we have a quick discussion about web hosting options with a bit of nuance?

Not at all but I would rather suggest a mini PC with a CPU that has a few cores / 8 to 16 GB of RAM and an SSD. Install proxmox and go crazy with VM's and containers for both dev / production. (Back up VM's to NAS or external drive) If you want public access to site rather look at a VPS...

Important announcement about driving licence renewals in South Africa

I renewed before expiry and waited 11 months for my new card. Used the receipt several times (we go camping a lot = long distance driving) and most traffic cops didn't say anything when i handed them both expired card and receipt. Had 2 occasions where there was mumbling of driving with expired...

SA Politics Thread Part 10 : The GNU Has Crashed

I can attest to that. Was in PTA over weekend and drove around visiting family. Compared to CT all road had dangerous potholes with some more holes than roads. Was there for 4 days - 3 days without water and 1 day without electricity. Proper ANC experience!

    Windows 11 Support Thread

The suggestion alone is insanity, never mind the practical implications for any large company with a few 100 laptops. My daughter has a Lenovo X230 - been running Windows 10 fine for years until it upgraded to Win11 "by itself" (suspect she clicked upgrade by mistake) Nothing but problems, no...
