The AA says Gauteng's e-panic button plan could actually work

It sounds very noble, BUT from the government that cannot even keep their 10111 service working - not very likely.

Switching off Auto Stop-Start on a car with AMT

I have a question about switching off Auto Stop-Start (ASS) on a car with Automated Manual Transmission (AMT), and I hope someone here can help me. TLDR: Will habitually switching off the ASS on an AMT cause long term wear on the clutch release bearing? The longer version: I have recently...

New car features we don’t like

My pet peeve is the Auto Stop/Start. Not only is it a nuisance, but it can be dangerous. Consider you are in a busy intersection waiting for oncoming traffic to pass so that you can make a right turn, and your engine switches off. You see a gap in the traffic which you could normally use...

The system did not recognise mine either, until I tried entering my initials without a space between them (e.g. AB Smith instead of A B Smith).

We need to bring back South Africans from around the world to fix Eskom: CEO

It has been admitted that the current round of load shedding is caused by, or at any rate made worse by sabotage - an inside job. So here is a thought: the monthly pay of ALL the workers at any given plant shoud be dependent on the plant's uptime. So if a plant, or part of it , is not running...
