Cell C wifi calling on iPhone 15

Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max, prepaid, eSim. Tested MTN as Afrihost Mobile. If MTN can provide wifi calling to their prepaid customers then you have to ask why they can't support it for their hosted clients, the MVNO's. Also tested on Mototorola Edge 40 Neo using Afrimobile (not working) Devices...

Cell C wifi calling on iPhone 15

MTN (and Cell C who squat on the MTN network) seem to have a problem with eSIM and Wi-Fi calling on Apple. Doesn’t seem to be a problem with physical Sims. Anyway, I got so frustrated I just ported to Vodacom and I’m having no problem now. I also got myself a backup Moto Edge 40 Neo and...

Cell C wifi calling on iPhone 15

Where you give your SIM a name, I start the name with the flag emoji. Helps me identify SIMs quicker.

Cell C wifi calling on iPhone 15

From the horses mouth: “For Motorola , WiFi Calling will not work as we do not range their devices, nor do we have a commercial agreement. I presume that hotspot functionality is also not working as we don’t have a commercial/technical agreement . IPhone 15, conference calling , Mobile...

    MTN Wifi calling on iPhone

They don't allow it because it would, in their Pea brain opinion, reduce roaming revenues. MTN may have been a market leader at one point but today they have last centuries thinking and have clearly not been watching the market. If you can load an eSim in your device, then you just sign up...

    MTN Wifi calling on iPhone

As of today MTN doesn't support Wifi calling on iOS. It is clearly struggling to master the tech on iOS since it works on Android for long time. Their own website says it's only available for Android and this image from my iPhone confirms it...

    Afrihost Mobile Feedback

Hopefully Afrihost can engage with MTN over why their network has problems with Apple iPhones supporting VoWiFi. They have VoWiFi on the MTN network but only for Android devices...

Cell C wifi calling on iPhone 15

When I try set WiFi Calling using the phone settings, it complains: But I have it activated in the App and via the Cell C website and despite the error message above, when I check the dashboard, WiFi calling does seem to be active: What's going on?

    MTN Allowing WiFi Calling

I did and I didn't understand it so I posted a note to the author, you can read his reply. I still don't understand how it benefits?

WiFi calling FQDN's for all the major operators currently

I left MTN and returned to Cell C when MTN could not get VoWiFi working for my number. It seems to be related to my number having been ported multiple times. It was working on Cell C and also when I migrated to an eSim, but when I moved back to a physical SIM it stopped working and Cell C has...

WiFi calling FQDN's for all the major operators currently

Hi. Your post was referenced in another post regarding VoWiFi. What are the links supposed to do? Is it a setting in the phone comms, like an APN? Thanks

    eSim is available on CellC

On message #155 in this thread, the Cell C rep confirms, that at this time, Cell C does not support eSims on wearables. I seem to need to spell this out, if you have an Apple Watch, CC does not support it. Therefore, your observation of why would I pick a Galaxy Watch over an Apple watch...

    eSim is available on CellC

I must assume that's a poor attempt at humour. Cell C doesn't support eSims for wearables, not just Android, try to keep up.

    eSim is available on CellC

Bummer. Just as I ordered a Galaxy Watch 5 Pro LTE on Takealot. :(

    eSim is available on CellC

Well I would agree, I don't know why Vodacom and mtn think that eSims are some sort of Premium functionality that they can charge extra for! Cell C has its detractors but, is, for example the only network in the world as far as I know, that supports International Wi-Fi calling. I like CC.

    eSim is available on CellC

QR-codes simply encode a URL which downloads the provisioning information to your phone, therefore you need an internet connection and credentials to log into the system. The QR codes are not specific to the user. There's no reason why provisioning data cannot be downloaded from an app or...
