    Cloud Backup for Server

Guys is this something that would run automatically. Please consider its a production server - so it houses my exchange, sql, virtual machines, user documents, etc. I think I would need something one level up from just a dropbox or google drive to allow for incremental backups and restore points.

    Cloud Backup for Server

Hey guys Require some assistance please. We have a server at work which we backup with veeam daily to portable hard drives. In addition to this I would like to implement a cloud backup solution. Our backup volume isn't amazingly large - probably 300GB or so. The daily change is also not big...

R1-billion South African electronics factory closing down - Here's what happened

I don't have concrete proof, but they had never produced a single smartphone, tablet or laptop. The bulk of their production lines whilst installed never ran anything. They had a clean room setup to produce for the automotive industry, also never ran a single product.

R1-billion South African electronics factory closing down - Here's what happened

There was also Leratadima Tellumat who was producing the DTT STB's. They just closed their doors about a month or so ago.

R1-billion South African electronics factory closing down - Here's what happened

It didn't close. They used to produce the Explora at Altech UEC in Durban. Altech decided to compete and came out with a competing device called the Altech Node (you may remember the adverts on TV). The product was a huge failure and the company that awards the Explora contract moved its...

R1-billion South African electronics factory closing down - Here's what happened

Thats incorrect. All production is done in SA from PCB population to final assembly. China being cheaper is a misnomer. The machines are the same. The wage rates are the same (infact SA is lower). The only possible difference would be productivity. Also DSTV does not award the contract. An...

R1-billion South African electronics factory closing down - Here's what happened

To be honest the bulk of the factory workers would be relatively unskilled. They'll be doing things like inserting components and a small amount of hand soldering and mechanical assembly (inserting a pcb into the housing etc). The skilled operators would be the machine operators - but since...

R1-billion South African electronics factory closing down - Here's what happened

From what I understand, there was no capital provided by Yekani. Which sounds ridiculous to me. The building was rented from someone else. And from my homework the capital cost of the equipment is less than R500m. So definitely someones pockets were lined quite nicely.

R1-billion South African electronics factory closing down - Here's what happened

There was never any business case for this factory and it made absolutely no sense. It was previously Vektronix which had 2 production lines. It was then taken over and became Yekani where they built this Goliath factory with IDC money and 10 production lines with the same 2 customers. Just to...

Consumer Protection Act and impact on Data/Sms/Minutes bundles

Hi guys, I remember reading a while back that the Consumer Protection Act would force network providers and ISP's to allow the user to retain data/sms/minutes for 12 months before losing it. Does anyone know if this is true now that CPA is in effect? Thanks!
