    My new IPAD

I'm sorry but that is just not true. Subjective appreciation can imply you like the aesthetics of the thing. You can objectively appreciate it however, the display has a size and a resolution, the thing has a weight, it has specific capabilities (CPU, battery, gpu, memory, storage, OS, apps)...

    iPad

I tried it and did not find it worth R10,000. It's also a PITA to have to convert all your video into H264 QT.

    My new IPAD

The iPad (64GB, 3G) is too expensive for what you get. It's R10,000. It should go for R5,000 tops. For R13,000 you can have a full blown Mac Book Pro.

    My new IPAD

It's not as black and white as you think. Reviewers often criticise study design or bias - even if it's not there or may not be significant. Then the study has a black mark hanging over it. Black and white stuff - i.e. stuff which is outright wrong never even gets published and is thrown out by...

    My new IPAD

It's possible to knock something without trying it. It's done all the time in science when one researcher discovers something and a few others review him. The rest (millions) basically then go with the opinion of the lot combined.

    What happens to older iPhones?

Exactly. The battery was not meant to be user serviceable. So if it runs out (and if you're not some clued up WWW geek who can find a place to repair it or import a tool/battery to do it) you're scr-wed. I did this for my iPod 3G but I also imported my iPod 3G from eBay back in 2003 before...

ios 4.0 - Multitasking trash & apple con!

What you guys describe is co-operative multitasking and is the way Windows 1.0x to 3.11 worked, as well as DOS. It's not really multi-tasking since the other app is not running in the background but stays suspended - exactly like Windows 3.1 or DeskQView worked under DOS. This is still not...

    What happens to older iPhones?

I'm sorry that my opinion offends your precious sensibilities but unless it's illegal to state an opinion, would you mind growing up a lil' bit? BTW Fravia - see my sig, has a better definition of trolling.

iPhone 4 - is it really worth it?

A phone which fails at its primary function is a pretty miserable device, wouldn't you say? Everything else becomes secondary then. And most people buy iPhones for that BS because they surely don't need 99% of those functions. They're mostly solutions for problems people don't have. It's a nice...

    What happens to older iPhones?

If you can't afford to dump them after they get old, you shouldn't be buying one in the first place. Rather spend the money on a home loan or education for the kids or medical aid.

    What happens to older iPhones?

Someone said that you can go back to using it as a phone -- here -> http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?244083-What-happens-to-older-iPhones&p=4216335&viewfull=1#post4216335 "returned to service" which isn't gonna cut it if your phone batter is not user servicable. As for playback - the...

    What happens to older iPhones?

Unlike other phones, the iPhone has a built in battery which requires special servicing. All batteries get used up sooner or later and then unless you want to use your iPhone plugged into a USB port constantly, it will be of little use. With the old Nokias, et least you can replace the battery.

iPhone 4 - is it really worth it?

Video calling is not popular despite phones having 2 cameras for years now. It's just marketing bs for fanboys. The iPhone4 antenna problem is putting me off getting an iPhone4. It is after all supposed to be a phone and all that other BS is just add on stuff most sane people don't use.
