    Rain R379 cellphone only package

Rain customer care did it for me.. They told me the tower it I was connecting to at that time (physically nearest to me) were extremely heavily utilised and then they made my router connect to another tower with less traffic, 4.8km away..... Getting much better performance now.

    Rain R379 cellphone only package

Welcome. Worth noting, most people on the MyBB forum use it to write when their connections are (very) bad / below expectations. Same goes for Hello Peter, etc. Human nature, far more satisfying to complain. Very few people would actually make the effort to write about how good a service is...

Anyone bought one of those Wootware laptops (Wootbook) that doesn't come with an OS installed, and booted a Linux distro on it?

Generator or Inverter for residential use?

So we 'upgraded' from a little inverter that only kept a few lights on + wifi, tv, etc to solar panels. New setup is 6x Solar panels, and 4x 12V240Ah OPR Deep Cycle batteries and new inverter. I don't know much about electricity, so the 'experts' did it for us and guided us on the ... It's...

How would you rate your culinary abilities?

I specialise in Hamburgers, braaing lamb chops or chicken and a couple of Japanese and Korean dishes that I learnt to make. Still need to improve my Steak game, so I'm confident not to mess up when I'm gonna fork out R900/kg on wagyu one day....

I currently load balance between Rain (R250) and Afrihost MTN Fixed LTE, capped at 150gb (R800). Use Rain in the mornings and then around 4pm, Rain usually dies / becomes unusable because of tower congestion and I switch over to Afrihost, which is usually 50-100mbps. I also work from home, but...

Also, according to the Openserve website, they support up to 20mbps ADSL in most of the town, so that could be another option.

Also keep in mind most good LTE services (Vodacom & MTN) have some sort data cap, which most certainly is not favourable when having to do video calls all day, everyday, but does the job.. be prepared to pay $$$. You get Rain which is uncapped, but I wouldn't trust them when it comes to video...

    Experience with Linteg Fibre

Wow, interesting. Yeah, everything's been kinda smoothly here on the KZN coast. I think majority trenching and ducts have been laid in our neighbourhood. Just waiting for DFA to hook us up with backhaul, ETA end of the month, then I think they'll shoot through the fibre and should be live soon...

Kitchen light - high pitch frequency noise

By the sound of things, I think the noise is coming from that black box. Note, it makes that noise, with (both Fluorescent and LED) and without bulbs... It didn't make that noise prior to installation of the new inverter.

Kitchen light - high pitch frequency noise

Think replacing the ballast to one with a different voltage solve it?
