MWEB hikes fibre prices just 1 month after some customers signed up

These people must approach the NCC, we need a court to rule on the exact meaning of "from time to time" as according to the CPA, next, I'll grab a loaf of bread for R15, walk to the till, charged R18 and be told that the prices are amended from time to time.

The only way to stop a second wave in South Africa

I do suspect the WC and EC are hoping for December tourism, which won't happen if they get another lockdown, I'd rather be stuck at home vs in a hotel room.

Rain slow speeds and poor support explained

LTE has been sacrificed by rain to enable 5G, yes you can call it a technology, but if it doesn't live up to spec, is it really? A broken Galaxy s20 ultra is just a super expensive, branded, paper weight.

Black was crazy, says Cell C CEO

You F'ed it up! At the time of the world cup, I signed up, fully intending to use it instead of supersport, except, not a single game was streamed, you were playing old recorded stuff from forever ago on a sport channel, what's.a joke, you burn me once, that will be it.

Rain slow speeds and poor support explained

Rain needs to stop selling LTE products, period! Stop moving backwards and continue to claim to be in an evolved advanced state of LTE, what you give is similar or worse than HSDPA, yes that 3g "hot" tech back in the day.

SA now has more unemployed people than those getting a paycheque

There is only so much advice and well wishes one can have or give, these deplete fast when it's taken as poison and labelled anti south African. I'm done caring, I shall enjoy it while it lasts, then pack up and leave. Those that make bad choices must suffer the consequences.

Whole house backup power installer recommendations please - Cape Town

Difference between the two, battery bank size and solar panels. Panels are the cheaper part of this exercise, batteries are more costly, for CoCT, you may as well do what I did, get away with a small bank to ride out load shedding and have CoCT put in their feed in tariff meter and use the...

Whole house backup power installer recommendations please - Cape Town

Chances are, a bit less than that, move all cooking and heating over to gas then move off grid. In my case, if I am to do that, I will need a 10kw lithium battery bank, majority of that bank will be for boiling water with kettle and coffee machine at night. I didnt do that because of...

Whole house backup power installer recommendations please - Cape Town

Whole house to be backed up by batteries and inverters? You may as well pay a little more and go off grid. Otherwise, find a trusted electrician to create a sub board with lights, fridges and tvs. That's what I did, just a suggestion.

Cell C lost nearly a third of its subscribers - But this hasn't significantly impacted service revenue

Have been with cellc for years and went with them initially for the 66c and then for their wifi calling, the wifi calling feature has been turned off for a long time already, luckily, no international travel lately. The flexibility of prepaid is the best.

South Africans weigh in on government's plan to let networks build 5G towers on their property

Apparently it's needed for self driving cars, so we won't be needing it in SA till the 2100s.

South Africans weigh in on government's plan to let networks build 5G towers on their property

My pool pump will "accidentally explode" and spew sand and water directly at their power box, and these "accidents" will be a regular occurance.

South Africans weigh in on government's plan to let networks build 5G towers on their property

My question is still the same, why not do what Korea, Japan and many others did by having 5G installed on street lights and robots? Could it be that our municipal govs won't take responsibility for damages? Network operators pay taxes to gov, if I don't get paid why must I keep their investment...

Do you think it should be a crime not to wear a mask in public?

Yes, they should also criminalise people for pushing in a queue when the lines are clearly on the floor.

Do you support the new ban on alcohol sales?

Its not fair or right but I support it, we do need all hospital capacity for covid19, unfortunately, many are just not responsible enough and has landed all of us in this problem, hoping my stockpile lasts til we're back again.

South African electric vehicles need government's help

EVs make zero financial sense as they will have zero residual value as second hand cars, and once mass adoption happens, gov will have to find ways to levy "fuel levies" on EVs, they will make even less sense. They will also likely be worse for the environment unless if a proper recycling plan...
