I've made some pretty terrible goofs using git GUI tools, now i only use command line and haven't screwed things up since.

Ha, don't tempt me. My storage is seriously bursting at the seams and plan to add a new 14TB x 4 pool to my TrueNAS box. Maybe after that I'll look at upgrading the network :)

I've been contemplating it but I have other priorities (like more hard drives). All my machines are hooked up with dual aggregated 1Gbit links which is fine for my needs.

Transcoding is bursty. It'll use all the CPU until its built up enough of a buffer and then it'll throttle down until it needs to transcode more.

The answer: On Windows (and Mac) yes, but not any other platforms. If you plan on doing transcoding I would recommend a relatively modern Intel CPU.

Found a guy in Kenilworth to repair my Must inverter, charging me R2500 which I guess seems reasonable as a new one would be at least double that plus having another piece of junk on the scrapheap. Have no idea if he's any good, but we will find out when the repair is done

So it appears it may be the inverter that's at fault here. The battery voltages tested fine so decided to connect up the known good batteries from my other inverter and it won't charge those either. Looks like I'm SOL with warranty as it's older than a year, so will find a repair place...

I'm just going to let mine die a slow death. There is R7 credit in it, somebody can buy themselves a coke.
