Pity we can't see further into Twitch's network; we'd be able to see how DNS determined CDN sources. All we know is that we get to the Hong Kong core point and nothing further. Always interesting to know how something seemingly simple can cause such a headache. Anyway, glad to hear that flushing...

Seeing Twitch content being delivered from Hong Kong as well (without buffering), not sure why they're feeding from a slightly more distant CDN. What DNS are you using?

Weird thing is these secondary servers seem to hop between two routing paths on their way to LINX as well. Doing a little more digging to see what (if anything) can be done there.

Sorry for the late reply here. This is an odd one. We don’t have different routing for different prefixes within a region. Bumping your connection would give you another IP within the same prefix pool- which means your routing remains identical. Definitely something with the matchmaking algo.

Tested a bunch of streams on our CPT vm, not struggling to load 1080p60.

Weirdly enough, this isn’t to and AWS destination. Everything seems clear to London, then it seems servers are being advertised by some network called UK2 limited, where almost 80ms is added. Are you sure about this server IP above? PS. The new transit isn’t currently in the mix for production...

CPT general notice. We’re going to bounce a few bgp sessions to see if the issue is not due to stale connections. Services will be briefly interrupted. We apologise for the inconvenience. Please expect a few drops over the next few minutes.

Busy testing the new upstream paths across a wider range of prefixes today, seeing the latency and performance issue. Just running a few tests before rolling back. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Morning, apologies for the late follow up here. I know our team did reach out to Vuma NOC earlier who were investigating. All sorted?

No Crickets. While we try respond as regularly as possible on the thread, I’m not online 24/7. A reminder, if it’s urgent, please address the query to support. Still testing the transit. I’ve said before, we’ll communicate when we’re satisfied and ready to bring it into production. We are...

I've asked the team to follow up with Octotel on this. I think your two tickets are being conflated on their side.

Looks like an issue on one of Vumatel's Master Nodes (seems to have dropped completely from their side). Traffic automatically re-routed to an alternate master node as soon as the BGP session timed out, hence the small delay. Waiting for feedback from their NOC.

KZN NLD update: One of our NLD paths between JHB and KZN went down just after 12pm yesterday due to a major break. This is not usually an issue as we have a secondary, protected path to handle the load. However, just after 1pm, this secondary path started showing signs of sporadic bouts of...

Can't seem to reproduce this. Can you confirm if it's still present? Seems to have originated well into the transit leg, in Europe.
