WeBuyCars now Offering Dekra Roadworthy Vouchers - Your Thoughts...

Hi Everyone, I noticed this morning on WeBuyCars' (WBC) Website that some of the vehicles now come with a "Dekra Roadworthy Voucher". Upon further inspection it seems that these are the Category A (Finance) Vehicles that do not require any additional work. It seems that these vehicles would be...

Complex Levies - What are you paying?

So judging from all of the responses, this complex is clearly exorbitant with their levies. Sad thing is you can't report this anywhere. You either buy the property and live with the high levies or you don't buy it all. Probably why it has been on the market for over 3 months now.

Complex Levies - What are you paying?

Hi Gazbal, 15 units in that complex. No extras. 22 Units in our current complex with swimming pool.

Complex Levies - What are you paying?

Hi Everyone, I have been messing with the idea of buying myself a holiday home. But after some advice from current and ex owners I would rather purchase a property in my area (Rivonia/Edenburg/Morningside). I have been looking at a few options in complexes in the area, however, I can't believe...

Is Coastal Property still Financially Wise?

Thanks. Previous selling date was in 1996 with no price available on Property24. I agree with you on perceived value vs actual value. These apartments always seem overpriced.

Old metro police vehicles BMW auction/sale?

Heard the same from an acquaintance that work for Nissan. Besides from already being a piece of scrap, those Hardbodys are are basically only good for scrap metal after a few years' abuse.

Old metro police vehicles BMW auction/sale?

Well a huge amount of people go out of their way to buy entry level German cars, with no extras on a GFV Contract. All about the image to some.

Things that irritate you - Part 2

Car Salesmen and Estate Agents. Acting all friendly and courteous until you point out that they are talking rubbish. Then they become defensive and dismissive.

Is Coastal Property still Financially Wise?

Good Day Everyone, I sincerely hope that you are all keeping well. What are your thoughts on buying coastal property? Is it still a good investment? I am considering a beachfront apartment in Amanzimtoti. This would be to vacation there myself and rent out. The apartment is currently listed...

Renting vs Buying ; House vs Complex

I have noticed similar trends. However some areas' property values never seem to decline. Also want to buy something that I'd be happy in for at least the next 10 years. Have enough saved to pay the bond registration, transfer and attorney fees in cash.

Renting vs Buying ; House vs Complex

Not planning on leaving the country soon :). TBH regardless of buying or renting a 3 bedroom, it will be more expensive. At this point in time it is kind of picking my own poison in terms of needing to pay all utilities and maintenance myself in return for not being ruled by a body corporate.

Renting vs Buying ; House vs Complex

I agree. I like to make changes on a property to make it a home for myself. Additionally, parking is always a nightmare in complexes. We have 1 garage and 3 cars. (3 employed adults). Body corporate head is at our door frequently complaining about the parking situation. He moaned about my mom's...

Renting vs Buying ; House vs Complex

Agree on the low rates but also not planning on it staying low forever. As bank staff I can get a bond currently at approx 5.0%. To build in some wiggle room I would see what I can afford comfortably on 7% over 20 years.

Renting vs Buying ; House vs Complex

Avg rent in the area is about R9500 and most complexes does not include water or electricity in the price. (Based on other properties I've looked at renting in the past).

Renting vs Buying ; House vs Complex

Hi Everyone, I am currently considering purchasing my first property. Have been renting for close to 3 years. I currently rent a 2 bedroom in Morningside. My brother (student) stays with me and my mother had to move in with us in July last year due to a Covid related retrenchment. She has...

    Repo rate cut by 50bps

Agree completely. Also work for a bank. I am looking at buying my first property. Only thing I can't seem to see are the deflated house prices. Estate Agents are becoming worse than used car dealers. I was recently in contact with an agent about a Linden Property that had been listed since...
