Are they not picked up already packed from the third-party seller? That appears to be the case with all of my orders.

I have/had the old bottling of the Arran core range (10/14/18) when I first got into collecting. Always found the distillery identity to be a little too much on the cereal side. Then I got Lochranza Castle and that blew me away. I've been eyeing Arran ever since. What's worse is the system had...

Just got in with 30 minutes to spare. Missed out on the Arran Quarter Cask sadly.

Is Three Ships Pinotage for R2499 a good deal?

Seems it will go on the JSD online store. Andy Watts mentioned after 8th May (whatever significance that holds). Too big a groupie following for discounts these days.

Two(?) of them run Whisky Boss on Facebook/Instagram. Some competitions and loads of fantastic photos. I really envy their collections!

If anyone is hunting down the Ardbeg Scorch, Three Ships Pinotage or Kilkerran WiP 7 amongst many others https://www.ontherocksza.com/collections/collectables Site is a bit janky. A search will get what you need.

Not sure if you're able to source it locally but this is the site I buy off of: https://www.thewhiskyworld.com/timorous-beastie-meet-the-beast-p9249

For Western Cape and Gauteng. It's R1000 for the rest of us pissants. Anyone recommend it? Seems good price but I keep reading it's a little "thin"?

Thanks! Buy more alcohol, you're saying? Don't mind if I do! I've been eyeing the Checkers release Caol Ila. It seems rather young, but I guess islay malts are better around that age? I wonder how it is? Add this R2 glass for free shipping. Still miffed I missed out on that 8 (if only for...

Are the different editions (Christmas/city exclusives) different to one another? I have the Cape Town exclusive and it's... OK? I get a lot of young Ardbeg in it.

Glengoyne 18 for R1589 at Takealot. Absolute steal at that price.

Pity. I'd be interested to know which year you had. The variance is wild. Most in SA seem to be 2019 - which I'd never recommend anyone getting. Just for anyone's reference if they want to pick it up, these are the timestamps (not the weird code on the bottle that says '21xx' etc).

Which release/year is this? There's a batch code on the back of the bottle. I picked up one and it is really heavy with something I can't put my finger on. Oak? I'm surprised you enjoyed this and not Glenallachie. This feels more like an older bottling of theirs than a Glendronach!

Checkers Malvern, too. Seems to be popping up a lot recently. None of the Durban stores I frequent had them a couple months back.

Checkers Overport (Durban) has some of those Springbanks in stock - if anyone is looking for more. ------- How's the Three Ships 11yo Whisky Brother release? I'd prefer PX cask but the Oloroso has me intrigued.

Stroh and Absinthe was the first thing I ever got drunk on. I was a really young teenager and had no understanding what I was doing with the alcohol we managed to get through a mate's older brother. The brother had told us that for the spirits we need to "mix them" so we don't **** our night...

That shipping nonsense sounds like it has to be Bottega. I also love the "bottled sometime between 1966 and 1970" on the Yamazaki. If you're dropping 2mil+ surely you're owed some form of provenance? Like, am I dropping the average South African retirement package on a real Japanese whisky or...
