Look at Qwikswitch. The only problem is that they don’t sell the QSUSB any more but with more pressures from customers I hope they will bend to it. I’ve sent them a couple of emails already. I have it and it satisfies all your requirements. Works very well.

That is rather sad that they are not making it. I’ll also send them a mail to add my voice to hopefully convince them to make them again.

    Home Automation - QwikSwitch

Hi there. Sorry for the delay in responding. You can contact Qwikswitch directly for a USB Hub. They’ll actually make one for you. That is what I did. There is a Hass add-on for the USB hub. Just search Github for it.

I’m using Qwikswitch. You install dimmer relays in line with a group of lights in a room and install a 2 or 4 button battery powered switch plate in place of the regular switch and link the buttons to the applicable relay. Works very well. Wife accepted as there are physical buttons to press...

I agree! And I find so much comfort that Paulus and Pascal can be paid from the proceeds of our monthly fee for HA Cloud. Just puts this project on another level. Love it!

    Business fibre

Hi folks, Busy educating myself on the establishment of a small service orientated public facing business and found that business fibre is just ridiculous in terms of cost per month. Cool Ideas for a 20/20 connection on Octotel is about R2500 pm EXCLUDING VAT ! So, is there anything that...

This was in the release notes and discussed on the podcast which I read before the upgrade and modified my configuration before I upgraded. Had no issues whatsoever :)

Ah on the latest episode they had a guest who developed the Tensorflow and streaming components and he has Hkvision cameras - fluke I guess. Hehe Quite frustrating when you’ve spent the money and it doesn’t work out. :(

Hehe you just listened to the last episode of the Home Assistant podcast did you? My sister in law and their business swear by Hikvision. Would love to get some myself. Just not looked at their cost yet.

Forget about the IP150. Get a ESP8266 NodeMCU, load the Arduino sketch found on my GitHub repo onto the board. Search for Paradox-controller, hook the board to the serial port of main board, configure HA accordingly and voila.

Hi there. So many people think that Xiaomi only does phones. They produce a lot more! They have two brands of smart devices namely Aqara and Mijia. Funny enough they all work with each other and their only differences are aesthetics mostly. If SmartKit could bring them in and make them...

    Home Automation - Smartkit

Hi folks. A colleague of mine went to Shenzhen armed with a shopping list provided by me for a whack load of Xiaomi goodies including the gateway, door sensors, temp sensors, motion, leak and vibration. Got them all set up in Home Assistant and they are working like a charm! I still need to...

I see the SV is an on/off switch just supporting a lower voltage. Surely for a garage door / gate motor one would need a pulse relay? In other words, the switch when “turned on” does not turn on and stay on, but turns on for a split second and turns off?

    Home Automation - Smartkit

Hi there, this thread has become a one stop home automation discussion in any case. Smartkit sells Qwikswitch products too. :) Regarding your WiFi Bridge, when you got your new router, I assume that you changed the WiFi details on the new router to the same SSID and password you originally had...

    Aramex global shopper

Hi there, I want to order from Gearbest, but have it delivered to my Amarex Global Shopper address in Shanghai so that it can be shipped to SA from there - assuming all shipments come from China. The problem is that Gearbest only allows for up to 35 characters per address field so I am not able...

That is why I have my own version so that each zone is its own topic as well as a topic for each alarm partition. I also changed it to report alarm status based on arm / disarm / trigger / panic.

No need for the IP module at all with this solution. The IP module is more of a hinderance. This ties straight into board using the serial port.

The behavior that you described is very odd. It interfaces with HA using MQTT. The sketch sends commands using MQTT to an MQTT broker and HA subscribes to the required topics and reflects the statuses accordingly. If you’re familiar with MQTT, it should be a walk in the park.
