Yeah like a long drop and lack of running water? Why are you acting like a victim here?
I am a victim of being unfairly labelled "privileged" just because I am not poor. Saying someone is privileged is insulting and drives a divide between people unecessarily.

My toilet is not a benefit I received and others not. Anyone can buy a toilet if they work for it. Receiving a toilet from government is a privilege, buying one from your toil is not.

"Privilege comes from the Latin privilegium, meaning a law for just one person, a
benefit enjoyed by an individual or group beyond what is available to others."

The social justice warriors use this term to support unsustainable socialism. I have received nothing that is not available to others. Many poor people receive many things that is not available to me.

So what is earning a high salary? A right or a privilege?

You first brought up the use of privilege yourself, and squealed like a pig when it was directed at you, trying to paint yourself as a victim.

Guess I won't use my R350 grant to eat this month, or next month.

That water bill is also going to eat into my rice and canned beef, eish.

Nah who pays for water? I am privileged to get it for free! Toilet also, government builds me a toilet! Nope I did not 1st bring in privilege, I merely responded to the incorrect use of the term here.

If only you took your own advise.
I was accused of being privileged because I can post things here, am I not allowed to defend myself from harmful false accusations? I will happily call out the black privilege of BEE, and also the privileges the poor receive that I do not.

, so saying someone is privileged is insulting and drives a divide between people unecessarily only when its labelled at you, its fine for others. You're a poster that im not going to take seriously.

R18 for 1kg rice from checkers
R22 Bull Brand Corned Beef 300g

For simplicity, let's assume you eat these 2 things once a day(cooked and divided up for breakfast, lunch, supper, nothing else.) It comes to R40 a day

R40x30 days in a month = R1200, just for food

**** they're privileged.
Soup kitchens obviously.... you actually think they use that R350 for food? Really?

You’re privileged for being able to “toil”.

If you envy the poor underprivileged so much, swap places with them.

Guess I am just too cynical.... i'm too used to the poorest around me being the drunkest.
You get the drunk who use every cent they get on booze and cigarettes. But that doesn't mean all of them do, especially outside urban areas.

I heard the argument once from a beggar that if I give them money, how do I know they won't use it to buy booze?

They told me they can find food, they can't find alcohol, so they don't care for buying food any more.

WATCH | Alleged unrest instigator Bonginkosi Khanyile appears in court for bail

A defiant Bonginkosi Khanyile (31) appeared in the Durban Magistrate's Court on Thursday for a formal bail application.

“We are strong (like) the lion in the jungle. We cannot be moved by anything because we are innocent. Our souls and consciousness are clear,” said Khanyile in court on Thursday morning.

The former fees must fall activist is charged with inciting public violence, holding an illegal gathering and not wearing a face mask while in public. The charges relate to the civil unrest.

Khanyile was arrested last weekend and has been remanded in custody since then.

WATCH: President Zuma must be free, we will say that even if we are facing a death sentence, says #FeesMustFall activist Bonginkosi Khanyile

“President Zuma must be free, we will say that even if we are facing a death sentence, even if we are about to be hanged in the gallows we will say that, in any platform we’ll say it, he must be free because he was arrested in a thuggery manner (sic). He was arrested in an undemocratic manner.

“How we are approaching this matter? We are strong like a lion in the jungle, we are very strong. We are not moved by anything because we are innocent, our souls and conscience is clear,” he said.

...

During court proceedings, the State produced video footage evidence in support of its case against Khanyile.

In one of the videos, Khanyile is seen speaking to a crowd and calling for them to support Zuma.

He is heard in the video telling people to continue to block the roads, fight and burn the country until Zuma is released.

Here is the video,

Anyone knows the date on which this has happened?

True enough.... but the smelly minority is the loudest. It's them you remember. Every weekend the liquor stores here make a killing when the farm workers come through, and it's worse on allpay when sassa pays out.

I would put around R11111ty gazillion dollars on the fact that if he was ACTUALLY facing a death sentence he would change his tune in about 2 milliseconds.
