Johannesburg - ANC spokesman Jackson Mthembu said during a television interview that it would be a dark day for the country if the expelled ANC Youth League president Julius Malema ever came to power, Beeld newspaper reported on Thursday
“Can you imagine Julius Malema becoming president of the country? Oh, dear God, may that day never dawn in our lifetime, or that of our children,” Mthembu said in an interview with television channel eNCA on Wednesday.
According to the report he also said Malema should never have been an ANC member because he was a bad person.
Malema should stop lobbying opinion on whether president Jacob Zuma should be nominated as ANC leader, Mthembu said.
“He's not even a member of the ANC. He can't nominate anybody. People join the ANC voluntarily, but then they're required to maintain certain values, and Julius couldn't do it.”
Mthembu also warned any ANC leaders who might be contemplating support of Malema, who faces charges of money-laundering.
“He's too factious... he thinks he's everything. He might support a leader now, but he'll do a complete about-face within three years,” he said. - Sapa

That's rich! He is a child of your legacy and your policies.
He is just doing exactly what the ANC taught him and raised him to do.
Now you want to disown him?

Isn't that a perfectly clear indictment that your policies have failed and your legacy will be one of violence and anarchy?

Just typical! He is the cANCer's bastard child and now they want to disown him. Not long ago they were all praising him!

Does not matter, we're getting screwed either way.
Zuma is no better than Juju.

Gary can you explain to me how someone who is not linked to the ANC can become president? He is no longer part of the ANC.

So he is not part of the ANC yet your headline states god help us if he becomes president but how gary? HOW?

I didn't make up the headline. Those are the words of Jackson Mthembu. You might want to forward your questions on to him.

Well, Adolf Hitler made it, even with legitimate elections, so why not Juju?

Membership of the ANC is not a pre-requisite of becoming president. We after all a parliamentary democracy

Correct, membership with the anc is not required. If juju plays his cards right one of 2 things can happen:

1. Gain enough support from current anc structures and be back in the party after his case is finalized and then stand in que for next party or even country president with the internal support.

2. Gain enough external support, finalize his case, start a new radical party and be voted into power by the masses ousting the anc.

Both may seem far-fetched, but not impossible.
