I do agree. You have a chance only every 5 years to make a choice regarding who governs. It should be used.

My voting doesn't fund services.
My tax money does.

If you don't vote just out of pure laziness you're a POS and can go fsck yourself. You are given the day off to go do this and it really doesn't take long.

This. I have more right to complain than most of the unemployed voters

Not really, they made the effort to go and put a mark down to say how they'd want the country run. Claiming oh because you pay tax you should have a say blah. You do, just go and vote.

Also, what many people don't know or don't realize is that even if your party does not win, more votes means more representation in parliament.

I disagree, it should be "if you vote you can't complain about the government" because voters are the ones who put them in power.

I'm all for the idea of taxpayers only being eligible to vote. However, how do we define a taxpayers? Is it those who pay income tax, those who pay VAT, those who pay a fuel levy? There are many different forms of tax, and I'm assuming that most of the voting population pays it in one way or another.

It is what it is, so all we can do is try by getting our asses to a station on voting day...

Assuming 100% of the vote was for that party, which it isn't.

No, it only requires a majority of votes to put them into power, not 100%. When you vote you are not only voting for a party, you are also voting that whoever gets the most votes becomes the government
