I'd imagine in Pretoria the number of white folks natively speaking Afrikaans and living ethnically as Afrikaans people eclipses any other race.

Seems like a lot of effort for trash TV.

Excluding Cape coloured folks (which are not from Pretoria) I'd say the vast majority of native Afrikaans speakers are white.

And the coloureds used on Sewende Laan and Binnelanders are Joburg based who think that Gam is the language Cape Coloureds speak. The Cape Coloureds just can't believe the ham acted Gam language used.

The white Afrikaners are also from some area that uses a different accent saying things like "May maw en may paw ray dawr" instead of "May mah en may pah ray dah".

They're a distinct population group babycakes. Lumping them in all in culturally as one homogenous groups called "coloureds" is just plain ignorant.

I really should’ve focused more in Afrikaans class back in high school, I want to watch all the drama unfold in Afrikaans, man I would even reconnect my DSTV just for this. I think this show is going to be good if you live for the drama.
