Which one "poisoned" him ? Now I want to watch a show where they try to do it again :D

The net is closing in on First Lady Nompumelelo Ntuli-Zuma, who has allegedly admitted to knowing about a plot to poison the president. City Press has learnt from four well-placed sources - both in law enforcement and in family circles - that President Jacob Zuma's estranged wife, known as MaNtuli, will "soon" be charged with conspiracy to commit murder.

The show is real housewives van Pretoria not native Afrikaans huis vroue van Pretoria. So, the point is that you just have to speak Afrikaans to be cast. Along with being vapidz etc as the women who appear seem to be. Some arent even housewives on the other versions of the show.
Considering the show is on Kyknet I assume by default it's Afrikaaner Huis Vroue van Pretoria.

no white can be african. ok?
only black can be african, ok?
I don't want to fall to this type of stupid debate anymore.
By that same reasoning any white person born in Australia isn't an Australian

Any black person born in Europe isn't a European?

Not even the dictionary is clear on what an African is.

Native would include those from north African non black countries

Inhabitant includes all of us

Then the use of "especially" in the definition, not "exclusively".

And what counts as ancestry, right back to the dawn of humanity? 2000 years, 1000 years, 500 years?

any white person born in australia is NOT originally an australian,
any black person born in europe is NOT an european,
yes definitively.

country ==> nationality
ethnic ==> skin colour.

no matter you like it or not, you can change your nationality but you can't change your skin colour.

The problem is mixed definitions

If we say that African is then an ethnic group or native people to a geographic region and not an indication of merely being an inhabitant, then what about being a South African?

Is being a South African determined by the fact that you have a SA passport, or is whether you are a native ethnic group to the region? If it's the latter then Africans aren't South African, unless you're Khoi San

south afrian is a name of a country, tomorrow anc can change the name to xyz, so you are not an afrikaner anymore? you are xyzian? got it?

yes, if you have a SA passport (or PR in some cases), you are a south african, that is. if you don't have, then you don't.

afrian can be south africa, but south african doesn't imply you are african.

Fair enough, being a white person in Australia is hella confusing then... you're an Australian but you're not an Australian

I blame Jan van Riebeek. Calling black people African implies a sense of ownership of the continent of Africa, which the North African Arab natives have equal claim to but they aren't considered African.

It's an unnecessarily confusing name

How about Arab-Africans, European-Africans and Native-Africans?

You are Australian if you have an Australian passport but you are not an Australian by ethnic. When Africa 99% of black people are eliminated, white may claim white is "new" African, until then, African is still referring to black only.

By what default? Kyknet is an Afrikaans entertainment channel not Afrikaner channel.
In my mind one inherently follows from the other.

Kyknet are primarily catering to an ethnically and culturally Afrikaans audience. The stories, the settings, the humour. It's mainly aimed at those living an Afrikaans culture. It's more than just regular shows in the Afrikaans language. In the Cape that audience is primarily coloureds, in most other places it's going to be primarily white folks.

There's no moral judgement in that, and I don't get why that seems to get a bee under your bonnet, it's just demographics. It's OK for ethnic groups to have entertainment that specifically appeals to them. Acknowledging that we're not all identical is OK.

What gets under my bonnet isn't the cultures or what strawman you're now constructing. I dispute you trying to claim that the show and Kyknet are Afrikaner, white Afrikaner instead of Afrikaans. I've watched a few sabc 2 shows in Afrikaans and there's no Afrikaner only culture there. Looking at the casting on most of their shows their casts aren't exclusive Afrikaans unless it's like a Boer soek n vrou
