‘Shikota is the black DA’ - COSATU leader

Congress of South African Trade Union president Sdumo Dlamini also spoke at the conference and slammed Cope.

"Shikota is the black DA, finish and klaar," he said.

Dlamini called the YCL "our hope".

"Youth are not just militant but can give ideas that provide life to militancy," he said.

Addressing the Western Cape by-elections, Dlamini vowed that "Cosatu will not take a holiday" when campaigning for the ANC.

How does someone stating their opinion that differs to yours indicate that democracy is different around here? I see it as an indication that democracy is healthy.

I have to wonder WHY a trade union is involved in politics to this degree... its not right, they must either look after their members interests in the work place, or be a political party... you can't be both.
